Roster Update: Mizuno announces new 2017 Tour staffers
Recently, we highlighted a boost in PGA Tour players — who were not disclosed as Mizuno staffers at that time — using Mizuno irons. Here’s that full story. Today, the company announced newcomers to its staff, or in other words, golfers being paid to use the company’s equipment.
PGA Tour members Jhonattan “Jhonny” Vegas, Nick Watney and Lucas Glover are now on Mizuno’s staff, as well as Web.com Tour players Keith Mitchell and Seth Fair. They join the golfers we already knew to be under contract with the company; a list that includes Luke Donald, Chris Wood, Adam Schenk and LPGA star Stacey Lewis.

“We pride ourselves in making the best equipment in the world for dedicated athletes who push themselves to pursue better,” said Ryan Ellis, golf brand manager for Mizuno. “In this rapidly changing and opportunistic marketplace, we purposefully chose to expand our Tour presence with players that align to our brand values, in an effort to continue to drive our brand and business forward.”
That means Brooks Koepka, Sam Saunders, Billy Hurley III, Roberto Castro, Jim Herman, Kevin Chappell, Vijay Singh and Paul Casey, among others, continue to play Mizuno irons under their own accord, as per the most updated photographs we have of their clubs.

Have 6-w PXG demo irons, received free, awesome clubs. Have a million 5,6,7 of various makers, a jillion wedges of every shape and size. But, still play decade old MX900 4I and 8-W always, CG10 wedges, mix up the 5,6,7 or just play the Zuno, but, I know where they are going and how they will get there…a 9I to the center is better than a strong W to the left or right in my book…

None of those three is a prime-time player. They came cheap, and were no doubt thrilled to have any type of compensation/incentive, after their deals with Nike came to an end.

I love my Mizuno JPX900 irons + PX LZ shafts. This is the 3rd set of Mizuno irons for me.
