Fujikura Speeder Evolution III: What you need to know

Published

on

Fujikura’s new Speeder Evolution III shafts round out the company’s Speeder Evolution line. The shafts are designed to produce launch conditions between the company’s existing Evo shaft models, providing a lower ball flight than the Evo I, yet a higher ball flight than the Evo II.

Like the other Evo shafts, the Evo III uses T1100G, a high-strength, high-modulus material that allows company engineers to increase shaft stiffness without adding weight. And like the Evo II, the Evo III uses the company’s Metal Composite Technology (MCT), which enables engineers to reduce a shaft’s wall thickness without negatively affecting feel.

The Evo III ($400) can be purchased through The Peoples Clubs starting Nov. 1, and through select Fujikura charter dealers starting in December.

Speeder Evo III 569 R perfect for my low swing speed and low spin — currently playing a 13.5 degree Driver (12 degree +1.5), club head speed 85mph, 220-230 total. Trick has been to obtain a 16-17 degree launch angle and hope for spin at or more 2300 — so hit up but not too much +2-4 degrees. Most important for my strikes is to ensure I reduce my natural into out swing path to <2 degrees — bad habit leads me back to 10-12 degrees, when i drop the head in behind me.
