Mitsubishi Chemical announces Tensei 1K Pro White shaft

In the world of golf shafts, materials matter, and Mitsubishi Chemical is proving that once again with the release of the new Tensei 1K Pro White.
The (really) big technology and materials picture
Mitsubishi Chemical, the golf shaft company, is an operation backed by one of the largest materials developers and manufacturers in the world—Mitsubishi Chemical Corp, which also does work in the plastics, carbon fiber, and pharmaceuticals (the greater Mitsubishi Group also produces automobiles).

This type of vertical integration and capital puts a lot of technology at engineers’ disposal, and when it comes to golf shafts, they are always looking at new materials as an opportunity to create better-performing products.
The foundation for the Tensei 1K Pro White is 1k fiber, which is three times thinner than traditional carbon kevlar, resulting in a tighter and more consistent fiber weave. According to Mitsubishi, this premium fiber transmits more high-frequency vibrations to the golfer’s hands resulting in a “truing” feeling at impact—their words not mine.
The other key element in the construction of the Tensei 1K Pro White is what Mitsubishi calls dual-phase Xlink tech resin that creates a structure that is stronger and more responsive and when paired with a boron fiber tip creates a stable yet responsive shaft intended to lower launch and lower spin.
Price, specs, and availability
The Tensei 1K Pro is available now through aftermarket Mitsubishi Chemical retailers with the suggested retail price of $500
The Tensei 1K Pro White ranges in weight from 50 grams to 80 grams.
