This Justin Thomas-Rory McIlroy Twitter exchange is the best thing you’ll see today

Published

on

On the heels of PGA Tour rookie Grayson Murray’s suggestion that the Tour’s finest ought to be a bit more fun on Twitter, Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy had, well, a bit of fun on the social media service.

Justin Thomas, No Laying Up’s Tour Sauce Ambassador, took the “discontented club flip” to another level at the WGC-Mexico yesterday. Here’s the elaborate club jettison after a wayward drive.

JT wisely got out in front of any blowback by tweeting an apology, which prompted this on-point observation from Rory McIlroy.

Thomas, never one to ignore the opportunity to twist the knife, dug up up a screenshot of Rory’s epic club fling from Doral a couple of years ago and gave it similar treatment.

And of course, NLU was right there to capitalize on the sauciness.

We’re not talking about speaking out, we’re talking about launching projectiles into a crowd of people and no I have never done anything like that ever that despite being very upset after the age of 7. I’ve heard such comments like yours before and I am not sure what the resistance or war is against being a more responsible adult.

So now GolfWRX articles are just rehashed storylines from other websites? There’s been like 4-5 websites covering this story and then GolfWRX gets on board?

If you’re going to talk about this story, come up with some original opinions or content. Don’t just add a quip or two between photos and call yourself creative…

I would tend to think that lots of people have thrown a club or two. The one thing I learnt was don’t use a interlocking grip hard to let go and when it does it is not good.

That he felt the need to apologize is absurd.

That I’m reading that people are upset he three a club is equally absurd.

Boggles my mind what people are outrage about.

Wish I had a copy of Eldrick’s driver launch off the deck and over the crowd during the Auzzie Open when the press hounds were days away from exposing him and that Uchitel broad. He was on fire during that round and duck hooked his drive followed by the launch! It was beautiful, not sure if it was on plane like Rorz and Jus, but glorious all the same. Anybody out there in cyber world able to pull up that video?

The author of this piece needs to get out more if he thinks this is the best thing we’ll see all day.

Great. The “unapologetic apology” shows up again. How about instead of singling out “those who were offended” by your actions (like it’s somehow THEIR problem), just apologize like a man and move on. No one cares about the “fire” inside of you. He’s basically saying he’s always been a d*** and reserves the right to continue to be a d***. Hopefully, for him, the next time he throws a club, it doesn’t hit an emotional, fiery spectator who decides to wrap the club around JT’s neck.

He shouldn’t need to apologize. People can be offended, doesn’t mean you need to apologize to them.

Clarifying, this guy isn’t saying he should apologize, he’s saying young people don’t even seem to know what an apology is. Ever said to the wife, “I’m sorry that being overweight has made you emotionally crazy.” It’s more of a statement of you’re wrong than an apology. Whether he should apologize or not, I won’t say, but an apology goes like this, “I am genuinely sorry for my actions today, and regret the example I set and hope in the future to set a more gentlemen-like example as this great game has always strived to, please forgive me, and support me going forward.”

What the apology posters are saying is, either apologize or dont, but don’t be sorry for things you aren’t sorry for.

“Sorry to those offended by my actions” is not any way, shape, or form an apology.

Seeing as he has nothing to apologize for… who cares? Stop being offended by pointless stuff that affects you in no way, shape, or form. I’m sure if the club hit anyone or came close to it, he apologized to them at the time. Those are the only people that’d “deserve” an apology.

Justin Thomas is a whiny brat. Always has been. Ive never seen somebody be such a little b**** so many times during the same round.

What GolfWRXers are saying about Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons which he has in the bag at this week’s CJ Cup. WRXers have been commenting on the switch and the clubs themselves in our forums.

For lots more photos, check out the full thread here.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • btyh: “Holy offset.”
  • Glf_LU: “These are interesting. Not going to make a rush to judgement until I see them in person. It does look like a little more offset than I would expect to see in this model.”
  • bcflyguy1: “Kisner is not one to make a lot of equipment changes (see the GBB driver he’s still using), so if these do have staying power in his bag that will be interesting to see. I have to wonder if there’s something different about his set, because like others have mentioned there appears to be more offset on his than I recall seeing in the samples I’ve had in hand.”

WATCH: PGA Tour players play hole blindfolded and it’s hilarious/amazing

Published

on

As part of a Srixon campaign, four PGA Tour players recently participated in a three-hole challenge, with each hole being a different game; hole No. 1 was blindfolded, hole No. 2 was costumes and distractions, and hole No. 3 was alternate shot with a baseball bat. The teams were Smylie Kaufman and Sam Ryder against Shane Lowry and Grayson Murray.

Watch the full video below, since it is quite entertaining (albeit not the type of golf that Old Tom Morris surely had in mind), but in particular, make sure to check out the first hole where Lowry and Ryder play a full hole completely blind folded. It’s amazing to watch how badly Ryder struggles, and how Lowry nearly makes par.

Cleveland-Srixon’s marketing department has been hard at work crafting these viral-esque ad campaigns; if you remember, former long-drive champion Jamie Sadlowski recently dressed as 80-year-old Grandpa Jamie to fool range-goers. That video has since gathered over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
