Those sure look like stock shafts in the wood in the picture.
Don’t think taylormade offered the Aldila tour blue in the RBz. Just saying.

It was a great win for VT, but he has been making money, save for 2014, when he must have been injured. He has earned almost 14 million, add another 4-5 in endorsements to that and he’s not been living in his van. Still, a significant win, and maybe a rebirth. He will get to schedule his tournaments, not be scraping for a spot and hoping for the best. To his clubs, Ryan Palmer and Brandt Snedeker used the original Superfast Burner TP for years.

Are you sure his driver shaft is in a Stiff flex and TS(tour stiff) or TX (tour extra)? It is very very rare to see that even with the shortest hitters on the big tour and even the Senior Tour. Great win, love to see a Grinder beat an all time great, one to tell the Grand kids.

Can we not congratulate some one for winning and not get our own panties in a knot. At the end of the day, do we actually have any say in what the power house golf companies like Tmag, Titliest, Callaway do in terms of their production. NO!!! so play what you want as I do, admire those who are really really gifted at it and move on. Save yourselves a day of self anger trying to point out an issue that has been beat up over and over and over. We get it. Congratulations to Vaughn Taylor. Great win. Nobody else shot what he did the last day to take the lead and win it. There you go. His own hard work and game paid off when it needed to. Who cares what he plays. Every company should give him some sponsorship since he plays a little bit of them all.

I still play the RBZ Stage 2 Tour Fairway, I can’t find ANYTHING Better.
I have tried the SLDR, Adams XTi, R15 etc and nothing feels as good or flys as far as a well struck shot with a Stage 2 Tour.

A tour player that is old school, plays with clubs he is happy with, we all should all learn from that. Winning matters!!! But I bet next few weeks he will have a bunch of shiny new clubs!!! HAHA Sounded good for a while at least!!! Go golfing my friends…

I don’t believe he even had a deal with anybody heading into this tourney did he? the commenters were saying how he didn’t even have a staff bag. He was using a TM stand bag.

He had no status. No deals. Barely scraped in to the tourney. What a weekend for him. He’s now into the Masters, and Hawaii next January.

Was really hoping he will win even if Mickelson somehow gave away the trothy on sunday. He played hack of golf on his last round (-7) and if this does not put you high on the leaderboard then there is something wrong. I watched his interview and liked how his little son was with him ???????? – reminds me of my little rascal. Honestly this guy really deserves the win and the cash – the tour needs more of those folks. Will watch out for him during the Masters.

Well if the M Family is so great, this guy shouldn’t be playing this club. TM marketing machine gets another sour apple win. No TM Ball. No TM Wedges. Driver from 2012. Fairway wood from 2013. Irons from 2014. You get the picture.
GolfWrx should write an article about TM staff wins and their interesting choices in equipment. I see a reoccuring theme.
This is why TM is on the ropes.

Tmag don’t care if he’s using old clubs. He’s using predominantly THEIR clubs, and he’s got a nice new M1 hat on. That’s what matters to them.
Great story. Well done him.

I bought 2 new 3 woods over the last couple years and just put my “old” rbz stage 2 3 wood back in the bag. For me it was a great 3 wood. Shame on me for trying to replace it for no good reason.

Same happened to me recently. The 3 wood chooses you, not you who chooses it.

Best comment I’ve seen in a while. Love seeing pros choice in 3 woods. Gore was playing a Big Bertha from 2004!!! After years of searching I’m in a 3 year old exotics. Of course now that I made this comment…

I am no TM fan but maybe all the more impressive winning with old TM clubs. I would have liked to see Phil win but I am happy for Vaughn Taylor. A win would not have changed Phil’s life but hopefully it will help vaughn a lot.

Chuck, come on man, Vaughn really worked his putter well on Sunday. Just give the man credit for that, don’t make this a bash-TM post. And by the way – TM is not on the ropes. The M1 truly outsold all other drivers – combined. And that’s the truth.
But let Vaughn enjoy his win. He had the silky swing working as well as the flat stick.

WOndering if anyone saw any round 1/2 footage of him – he have the same hat on or TMAG get him to wear it Sat/Sun??
Regis
Feb 15, 2016 at 2:14 pm
Or you could see it another way. This guy is struggling to make it. A former Ryder Cup member he’s obsessed with re-gaining a spot. Even springs for a Robo trainer in his home. So money is no object. But he still manages to beat the Callaway poster boy (How many times did Phil change out his driver?)and a host of other top 20 players with big endorsement deals by playing older TMAG equipment, Driver through wedges. Why? Nobody else has come along with anything better. They just have poached the technology that Tmag put out 2 to 3 years ago.

But… But… He does not play the M1 neither the PSi ! Is it possible that 2014 taylormade clubs work just as fine as the 2016 ?! My golf life is a lie !

You cheat when you don’t count your bad shots, right, so yeah your golf life is a lie. You don’t need any kind of driver at all because you can write down any score you want. So go do that. lulz
