Cleveland launches new RTX Full-Face 2 wedges

Published

on

Cleveland Golf has today announced the launch of its new RTX Full-Face 2 wedges.

Designed to take players’ short-games to the next level with its versatility and playability, the new RTX Full-Face 2 wedges feature hosel-to-toe grooves and an extended toe area designed to give skilled golfers the confidence to take on demanding open-face shots.

New to the RTX Full-Face 2 is HydraZip. HydraZip is a dynamic blast and laser-milled line system integrated into the wedge, maximizing spin in wet or dry conditions, or from anywhere around the green. These lasered micro-milling lines are angled toward RTXFull-Face 2’s grooves, adding more roughness and friction at impact.

To further RTX Full-Face 2’s spin performance, UltiZip grooves cover the entire striking area. These grooves are designed to help cut through debris at contact, while the high-toe profile aims to enhance golfers’ ability to take on aggressive short-game shots.

“Skilled players wanting that extra element of control with their greenside play will reap the benefits of the RTX Full-Face 2. We’ve added HydraZip face technology to maximize performance inwet or dry conditions, which works alongside ZipCore technology for even more forgiveness and consistency when you want to take on those riskier shots.” – Casey Shultz, Senior Product Manager at Cleveland Golf

In addition, the RTX Full-Face 2 wedges features the brand’s unique, low-density ZipCore technology. ZipCore positions the Center of Gravity closer to where the club strikes the ball in design for more consistent performance and enhanced forgiveness. Per Cleveland, RTX Full-Face 2 features up to 96% more ZipCore material compared to its predecessor, which delivers 13% better MOI.

RTX Full-Face 2 features three versatile sole grind options, each shaped based on loft groupings. For lower lofts ranging from 50-52 degrees, the S-Shaped sole with 8 degrees of bounce, is designed to provide an optimal balance of control and maneuverability. Sand Wedge lofts feature a similar S-Shaped sole but with more bounce at 10 degrees, in order to tackle bunker shots. Lofts of 58 degrees and higher benefit from the C-Shaped sole with 8 degrees bounce, designed for flops or escapes from challenging lies.
