New Titleist irons this fall…

By Member: Aces-6
Seems to me like it’s going to be difficult to improve on the hugely popular AP2’s. I wonder if Titleist will stay with the current 4 sets of irons (AP1-AP2-CB-MB) or if they will scrap a set?
I could see the MB’s being eliminated in favor of a combo set of MB and CB’s.
What do you guys think Titleist might have up their sleeve for the next generation of irons?

Best Ping irons from the last 5 years – GolfWRXers discuss

In our forums, our members have been discussing Ping irons. WRXer ‘LowAndLeft32’ wants to hear what our members believe are the best additions from the brand over the past five years, with the i210 irons proving a popular choice.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- PEI_Golfer: “Hard pressed to beat the i210s.”
- realmfg: “Blueprints.”
- eric61: “Love the i210s — they’re easily the answer here, in my opinion. I really liked the i59s, too, but not as much as the i210s, and I think their price point maybe has meant a lot of people didn’t even end up trying them. G-series irons are fine too. If you’re in that segment of the market, the last few years it’s been the latest G irons vs the latest Hot Metals for the top of the pecking order, in my opinion.”
- Cwhite912: “Easy, I210, Blueprint, iBlade.”

Easiest launching fairway woods – GolfWRXers discuss

In our forums, our members have been discussing easy to launch fairway woods. WRXer ‘Pete52’ hits his woods too low, and our members have been sharing their best picks to solve his problem in our forum.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- JKJKJK: “I had the easiest time to elevate from the deck with G425 Max 3Wood/5Wood with Motore F3 shaft. Flies really high and easy to hit.”
- DoughBack18: “Sim2 Ti. Has a lot of weight on the sole, and you can really launch it high. I’ve always had a slightly lower trajectory, got this in a 5 wood, and it’s worked really nicely filling the gap I had at the top end of my bag.”
- Valtiel: “Any of the modern Pings are a good litmus test for elevation. If you can’t get those off the ground then you know the problem ain’t the club.”

Your favorite wedge distance? – GolfWRXers discuss

In our forums, our members have been discussing optimum wedge layup distance.
WRXer ‘KevinMDowney’ kicks off the thread asking: “if you’re going to lay up on a par 5, what distance are you looking to lay up to?” and says he prefers “full SW to Gap Wedge – 90 to 110 range.”
And our members have been sharing their ideal wedge distance in our forums.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- Sean124: “I guess my favorite would be 100 yards, which is a full smooth 60* for me.”
- jc2: “100-105 is a full sand wedge which is perfect for me. Anything more than that, I’m trying to take some off a gap wedge which I don’t control as well.”
- dsmil: “The closer the better for me. I’ve practiced the 40-70 yard shots quite a bit, so they don’t make me uncomfortable. I like using my 58 and zipping it in there low with spin.”

I just hope they don’t stop producing the MB

As a proud owner of the 710 CB irons set. I would like to make a comment on the balance of each club. As you see the intervals are and one per club which makes it very nice and easy to chose what club to use.
However in saying this I have use the MBs and they are very very easy to swing shaping the shot along with the narrow edge slicing through the fairway. If the new Korean own clubs could meshed together the CBs and the MBs would be the perfect irons set for 2014.

The 735’s are excellent. I am still gaming them. The cavity to muscle set gives fantastic feel and playability. A progressive, combo set like the 735’s would be nice, especially in the satin finish!

I wish they would come back with a combo set, as it seems like so many people custom order combo sets (MB/CB, MB/AP2, etc). I liked the 735.cm set they had years ago.

I am looking forward to upgrading once Titleist releases their new offerings. I currently play the 710 MB/CB and its time for me to buy a new set. I have always played Titleist, and one of the main things I love is that they offer everything in lefty! I hope they keep the AP2 as that is what I see buying this year.
