WITB Time Machine: Matt Kuchar, 2018 Mayakoba Golf Classic
With the PGA Tour making its annual trek south of the border this week, we wanted to take a look back at at the WITB of a winner of the now-World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba. Enter Matt Kuchar’s 2018 setup. Kuch finished a stroke ahead of Danny Lee at El Cameleon with his beloved Bridgestone J15CB irons in the bag along with some other regular arrows in his quiver, including a Bettinardi Kuchar Arm Lock flatstick. Then-No. 1 player in the world Rory McIlroy began the week at the Wells Fargo Championship at 3-1 odds, if that gives you any indication of how well the Ulsterman was playing at the time. All he did at Quail Hollow was set the course record during his third round (61) and win the tournament by seven strokes.
