Best oversized wedges – GolfWRXers discuss

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing oversized wedges. WRXer ‘MilesGiles’ is on the hunt for a new 52 degree wedge, saying

“Do like my Ram ‘EZ out’ 56, sadly seemed to have stopped making them. Need a 52 as similar as possible, at least in clubhead size.. no expert on bounce, but it seems fine for me on the 56, so similar would be great but not a deal-breaker. Been looking in shops and online and can’t find anything oversized at all? Can anyone help?”

And our members have been sharing their best suggestions in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • LukesDad: “Check out the Maltby wedges on Golfworks.com. They have a variety of what I would consider oversized wedges, i.e., Max Milled, FGT Forged, PTM Chrome Forged. Can be assembled for a reasonable price and just might be what you are looking for. Good luck.”
  • cgasucks: “I know that these wedges are discontinued, but the TM Bigfoot wedges and the Oversized Cobra Trusty Rusty ones made a few years ago were pretty big to me.”
  • mc2: “Cleveland smart sole G is 50 degrees. Extremely easy to play. Absolutely no versatility but, just line up and hit. They spin a tonne. The Cleveland CBX line is the next step up, still very easy to play with a bit more versatility; the sole is nowhere near as big as the smart sole if that’s what you need. 52 and all other lofts available in the CBX line.”
