XXIO unveils all-new XXIO 12 series

Published

on

XXIO has today introduced the all- new XXIO 12 and XXIO 12 Ladies family of clubs which officially launches in North America on February 11, 2022.

The XXIO 12 woods and irons are a super lightweight family of clubs featuring a specialized suite of technologies that are designed to amplify performance for the moderate swing speed golfer.

Speaking on the new XXIO 12 range, Chuck Thiry, Vice President at XXIO, said

“Having a 20-year head start in lightweight technology has been a real plus for us. It has allowed our engineers to focus on incremental improvements and on technologies that best accompany that performance. We are certain that our players will continue to see big advancements in performance and distance as soon as they hit XXIO 12.”

One of the new technologies featured across XXIO 12 is ActivWing, which stabilizes the clubhead and helps square up the face angle at impact in a bid to provide players with a clubhead that consistently hits the sweet spot to increase ball speed for maximum distance. ActivWing is featured on the driver, fairway woods and hybrids.

Per XXIO, in-house testing data showed that XXIO 12 with ActivWing delivered a 17% tighter impact pattern on average than previous generations without it. The new XXIO 12 driver also features a 28% higher COR area than the previous generation.

The new clubs also feature Rebound Frame, a new technology that delivers a four-layer structure (on the woods) that alternates between stiff and flexible zones, enhancing overall COR, putting more energy into the golf ball in design for increased ball speed and distance.

On the irons, a thinner face allows the entire face to flex more extensively while grooves etched deep into the interior of the iron body further aim to enhance flexibility.

A new Super-TIX 51AF Flat Cup Face allows for a strong, flexible face in a bid to increase ball speed, especially on off-center strikes on the new clubs, while the latest additions also include Weight Plus – a counterbalancing technology that is designed to allow for an easier takeaway and a more consistent club path to help square the face at impact.

On Monday at the 2023 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village, we spotted five new Titleist iron models, including new T-100, T-150, T-200, T-350 and U-505 irons for 2023.

Since the irons are just now becoming available for PGA Tour players to test, Titleist is not yet providing information on design, technological improvements, or retail details.

However, GolfWRX.com is on site this week to get a first look at the irons, and observe initial testing sessions. We’ll update you with PGA Tour player feedback and first reactions later in the week.

For now, we have photos of each new Titleist iron model below – each model appears to have both a chrome version and a black version available for the launch. More photos of the entire lineup can be found in our GolfWRX Forums here.
