Rory McIlroy playing Scotty Cameron putter at Olympics

In our forums, our members have been reacting to Rory McIlroy’s change of putter at this week’s Olympics.

McIlroy has been gaming a TaylorMade Spider primarily since becoming a TM staffer, but this week it’s a return to a Scotty Cameron blade.

Earlier this week, the Irishman was seen practicing with a Scotty Cameron 009M, which features “Rors” stamped on the toe, and on day one, McIlroy put the putter in play where he shot a round of 2-under par.

Here’s what some of our members have been saying about the putter change, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • north_east_pro: “2 under par opening round with it. A steady start to build from.”
  • TheMoneyShot: “I knew this was going to happen eventually. Watch him go on a tear now…”
  • BostonWRX: “I thought it was weird he used a spider all year, switched to I believe a Juno at wells Fargo and won, and then the next tournament immediately went back to the spider.”

What’s your experiences with Tour Issue Fairway Woods? – GolfWRXers discuss

In our forums, our members have been discussing Tour Issue Fairway Woods. WRXer ‘Getitdaily’ asks: “Did custom specs help and make a difference, or were the tour issue heads not much different than the non-tour issue?”. And our members have been sharing their experiences in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • kasting333: “I had the m6 tour issue 3 wood, and it was exactly the same as retail other than the face groves. Still a great club.”
  • Kale_m: “Have had a couple of TM ones. I find that there had been so much hot melt in them that they feel dead. Meh. The one I liked the most was a tour issue 2017 M1 HL. That thing was sick. RIP (it cracked).”
  • nitram: “99 out of 100 playing partners won’t know you’re playing a TI club unless you tell them. And most won’t ask, especially if you suck with it.”
  • MountainKing: “Other than it being a prototype club, they’re the same heads that have been spec’d out. You can take your 3 wood to a club builder and have them measure the specs if you’re wanting to know. Most heads are fairly close in spec, unless you have a very repeatable swing it won’t be game-changing. Even if you have a repeatable swing it won’t be game-changing.”
