TPT unveils Red Range line of shafts designed exclusively for fairway woods
TPT, the Swiss golf shaft manufacturer, has just announced the expansion of its Red line of shafts with the introduction of the all-new Red Range fairway wood shafts, which are created specifically to enhance the performance of fairway woods.
These new shafts are designed to not only work alongside the Red driver shafts but also to offer the identical feel for golfers looking to bring the feeling of their driver to their woods.
“Because we’re a Swiss company and a newcomer to the golf industry, we have a different perspective. We asked ourselves, ‘Why are fairway woods the most challenging clubs for most golfers to hit?’ And it was clear one of the main reasons was the shaft.” -TPT Chairman Francois Mordasini
TPT Technology recap
Just like the driver shafts, the Red fairway shafts are created with Continuous Fiber technology, a patent-pending automated shaft manufacturing process that continuously winds the carbon-fiber prepreg material around the shaft mandrel from tip to handle. The result is golf shafts produced without seams or spines, which can reduce performance and consistency, according to the company.
“Continuous Fiber means that our shafts are made with one start and one stop,” says TPT Co-Founder Gerard Gautier. “We don’t have over-layers. We don’t have gaps. And we can do this because unlike our competitors, we’re not making shafts by hand. We’re using automation.”
The Thin-Ply 2.0 utilizes an improved resin formulation TPT developed exclusively for its golf division that gave its designers the freedom to push the performance and durability of TPT shafts further than the previous generation.
The prepreg material is created with an automated process that takes TPT’s ultra-thin carbon-fiber and stacks it together in precise orientations. The sheets are then fused together to multiply their strength and toughness before they’re cut into strips and wound from tip to handle to create a seamless, spineless golf shaft.
“Is this a first?”
When it comes to shafts, manufacturers generally produce a full line of wood shafts in different weights intended for drivers with fairway woods in mind as part of the design process—let’s be honest, there aren’t many golfers trying to swing 80-gram driver shafts anymore. TPT has designed these from the ground up specifically for modern fairway woods.
With this new line, TPT joins a growing list of aftermarket shaft companies that offer fairway wood specific models with the most popular and established being the FX 2.0 line from Accra, which comes in a number of weights and profiles to work alongside the additional driver and hybrid models. This kind of line separation makes it easier for golfers and fitters alike to use their driver as a baseline for finding the best performing shafts in other clubs in the bag to replicate the performance and feel.
Pricing And Profiles
The TPT Red Range fairway shafts will retail for $600, and will initially be launched in the company’s eight most popular profiles with additional profiles to be released in the near future.

I’ve wanted something like this for such a long time. I either hate my fairway wood and love my driver, or I hate my driver and love my fairway wood. I always suspected the shaft was the issue!
