Check out Rickie Fowler’s Puma API gear designed to honor Arnold Palmer

Published

on

Rickie Fowler heads to Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week, and he will sport a Puma Arnold Palmer P Cap, Limited Edition Ignite Proadapt footwear, and carry a custom Cobra x Vessel Stand Bag, all of which are to honor the late Arnold Palmer and all of which will be available for the public to purchase.

A limited number of Fowler’s custom Arnold Palmer items will be available both at CobraGolf.com and at select retailers. While a small number of custom caps, stand bags and shoes, personally autographed by Fowler will be available to purchase at PumaGolf.com

100 percent of the proceeds from the sales will go towards the Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation.

ARNOLD PALMER IGNITE PROADAPT Shoes – $250

The Arnold Palmer Ignite shoes feature the signature Umbrella logo in a repeating pattern on the heel and interior of the shoe and also contain the King’s signature on the side of the shoe.

The shoe contains a custom pink sock liner, which is an ode to Palmer’s love of the color pink. One features the famous umbrella logo while the other features the iconic Arnie quote “I never felt like I didn’t have a chance to win.”

The shoe features a Green PUMA Formstripe, Cat logo and heel, while coloured lace tips complete the shoes look.

ARNOLD PALMER SNAPBACK CAP – $40

The hat which features the iconic umbrella-logo layered on the embroidery P is available in three different colorways – all white, white/green, and pink.

COBRA + VESSEL Tour Stand Bag

This stand bag comes in a white and green colorway, with the Umbrella Logo displayed throughout the bag. The bag features heavy-duty zippers, durable PU material and a single strap for easy carrying.

The stand bag comes in a lightweight package, weighing 60% lighter than a regular Tour Staff bag.

Those who donate as little as $10 this week to the Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation will be entered into a sweepstake. The winner of the sweepstake will receive a Roundtrip airfare for two, hotel accommodation, and a round of golf at the prestigious Bay Hill Club & Lodge. The winner will also get a personal tour of Mr Palmer’s office, Rickie Fowler signed custom Arnold Palmer gear and additional PUMA gear. Full detail of the sweepstake can be found here.

Those are awesome. It’s about time these companies made their guys carry stand bags. That’s what people who buy bags use. Not staff bags! I saw earlier this year at I believe Farmers they did a bag…. sold them online for $599 and were sold out by Sunday!

Nice looking gear but the snap-back cap is a little pricey at $40 bucks.

Proceeds go to the Arnold and Winnie Palmer foundation… a pretty good time to splurge on a cool looking product!

What’s the perfect mini-driver/shaft combo? – GolfWRXers discuss

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Mini-Drivers and accompanying shafts. WRXer ‘JamesFisher1990’ is about to purchase a BRNR Mini and is torn on what shaft weight to use, and our members have been sharing their thoughts and set ups in our forum.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • PARETO: “New BRNR at 13.5. Took it over to TXG (Club Champ but TXG will always rule) in Calgary for a fit. Took the head down to 12, stuck in a Graphite Design AD at 3 wood length and 60g. Presto- numbers that rivaled my G430Max but with waaaaay tighter dispersion. Win.”
  • driveandputtmachine: “Still playing a MIni 300.  The head was only 208, so I ordered a heavier weight and play it at 3 wood length.  I am playing a Ventus Red 70.   I play 70 grams in my fairways.  I use it mainly to hit draws off the tee.  When I combine me, a driver, and trying to hit a draw it does not work out well most of the time.  So the MIni is for that. As an aside, I have not hit the newest BRNR, but the previous model wasn’t great off the deck.  The 300 Mini is very good off the deck.”
  • JAM01: “Ok, just put the BRNR in the bag along side a QI10 max and a QI10 3 wood. A load of top end redundancy. But, I have several holes at my two home courses where the flight and accuracy of the mini driver helps immensely. Mine is stock Proforce 65 at 13.5, I could see a heavier shaft, but to normal flex, as a nice alternative.”
