Sergio Garcia officially signs with Callaway, will play 14 Callaway clubs
In what could be described as the most predictable news of all time, Callaway announced today that it has officially signed Sergio Garcia to its staff. According to the announcement, the 2017 Masters Champion will “immediately” be playing 14 Callaway clubs and a Chrome Soft X golf ball; he’s slotted to make his first start of 2018 in Dubai in late January. Garcia has also signed a multi-year deal to play adidas Golf footwear and apparel.
“I’m really excited to switch to Callaway,” said Garcia, according to a Callaway press release. “After testing different brands I realized Callaway’s technology and innovation will help me maximize my game and perform to the best of my ability.”
The 37-year-old Garcia, who was previously with TaylorMade for 15 years, was spotted playing numerous Callaway clubs in late 2017. We’ve spotted him using an Epic driver, Apex MB irons, Mack Daddy 3 wedges and Toulon putters in his most recent competitive appearances, which is why this news comes as no shock. Apparently, Garcia has picked up distance due to the driver switch, as well.
“The launch monitor doesn’t lie,” said Tim Reed, SVP, Global Sports Marketing, Callaway Golf. “Jailbreak driver technology has upped his distance off the tee.”
Throughout his career, Garcia has racked up 32 worldwide wins, including 10 PGA Tour wins. Most notably, he won the 2017 Masters after a long career being named as “the best golfer without a major.” He’s also won the 2008 Players Championship, and has a career Ryder Cup record of 19-11-7; by all means, he’s been a nightmare for the United States Ryder Cup teams since 1999.
We look forward to bringing you Garcia’s 2018 Callaway WITB when he makes his first appearance on U.S. soil in the new year.

Coolest thing for sale in the GolfWRX Classifieds (5/13/24): Full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs
At GolfWRX, we are a community of like-minded individuals that all experience and express our enjoyment of the game in many ways.
It’s that sense of community that drives day-to-day interactions in the forums on topics that range from best driver to what marker you use to mark your ball. It even allows us to share another thing we all love – buying and selling equipment.
Currently, in our GolfWRX buy/sell/trade (BST) forum, there is a listing for a full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs.
From the seller: (@CaymanS): “During the year of recovery from leg surgery that never quite healed, I was bored. One thing led to another, and I ended up gradually building/acquiring the individual pieces to complete a set of “Tiger Slam” clubs. They are what Tiger played to win 4 consecutive majors, which nobody has ever done. This is not an exact replica of course, but something close that fit me to play a few times per year and experience what Tiger did. But my bad leg, 4 shoulder tears, and age prevents me from the ball-striking needed to enjoy these to their fullest. They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially since the driver and fairway shafts are regular flex and most players good enough to play these will need to change them, but it’s not a perfect world. I am not a historian on this stuff, but my research indicates these are the same models Tiger used, with slightly different specs to fit me.
Full set $1,600, or…
…a donation for a Pro Kids fundraiser, or…
Driver: $70
Fairway: $250
Irons: $1,100
Wedges: $100
Putter: $350″

Just another bit that the arrows are irrelevant and that everyday golfers should spend a LOT less on equipment and just go out and enjoy playing golf – but they won’t … such are the lambs of marketing

Why has the latest Tursky equipment article, namely:
“That one time Dustin Johnson got super protective over his M3 weight setup”
… cancelled the Comments section?
The M3 with the controversial TWIST FACE on the M3 driver is possibly one of the most groundbreaking design innovation in driver technology.
As for Dustin’s M3 weight setup shown in the picture, it appears he wants the weights shifted closest to the clubface thus bringing the driver CG well forward. Recreational golfers will want to have the CG pulled back for more gear effect.
Now the gear effect is being optimized with the Twist Face.
Why nas WRX eliminated a comments section on this article and others?
