Bubba proves fan wrong, talks trash after recovery shot

Published

on

Bubba Watson won the Travelers Championship on Sunday, and embarrassed a crowd member in the process.

The spectator reportedly suggested Bubba hit a low-punch shot under a tree with a 4-iron. Instead, Bubba hit a high wedge over the tree and stuck it next to the pin for a tap-in birdie.

He made sure to let the fan know about it, too. That poor spectator was only trying to help.

Nothing wrong with this at all, either way. The spectator was probably just thinking out loud. Many golf “fans” have no concept of the reality of a given situation…like “get in the hole” guy, for example. A 4-iron punch is actually an option given where Bubba’s ball was. It ended up not being he right club and shot combination for Bubba, but again, that’s why there are playing and we are watching. Bubba said “Who said 4-iron punch?” just after hitting it tight with a sand wedge. I wish more professionals were like this. He didn’t do anything wrong to the spectator and it seemed like he was playing around. If he had called the guy out for the cameras or something to that effect then I would think differently.

PAT M……….Bubba might have Aspergers, but then again he might not. You need to ask him yourself!!! I Have Aspergers, and I am golf professional. I do not see Aspergers, but clearly he has ADHD.

I liked it… people behind the ropes need to shut up!

I just wanna know what he said back to the dude telling him to ditch a SW for a bloody 4i. “Who……putts”?? I’ve listened back, with headphones & can’t understand what he said.

Some idiot telling a multi-Major champ how to play his shot just before is shot ain’t know fan & was begging to be put in his place. Kudos to puttin your money where your mouth is Bubba & not blackbawling the yokel, which is what he deserved.

Can some of you Major Tour winners who post here tell me when Professional players were banned from having and expressing their views?

This is sweet! Good crowd interaction! Like Bubba needs some chop how to play his shot. You don’t ever talk to someones ball or give unsolicited advise!

I miss fuzzy and Lee and David Graham but it looks like we have Bubba, what fun that was to see the interaction and to see Fuzzy bring a guy over the ropes to demonstrate how to hit the practice shot correctly oops or not

Someone predicting what type of shot he’s going to hit is a heckler??

I generally do not care for Bubba Watson, but this was pretty sweet. He was just having some fun…

Bubba is easily one of my least favorite players on tour, but in this instance, I think he was just having fun with the crowd. Everyone thought it was funny.

There is a reason people can’t stand this guy.

you don’t see this with Spieth or Rory, etc…

he is a great player, but god is he an immature tool

Bubba has Asparger’s. He said it is ADHD but is sure looks like Aspargers. It is pretty obvious. Highly creative, self taught, intense concentration, can hit shots other players dream off with incredible eye hand manipulation that is all automatic but the draw back if challenging social skills. Asparagers is like a mild form of autism. There are quite a few people who have Asparagers who are very successful because they are highly creative and intelligent is certain niches. See Dr. Michael Burry.

I guess to all the semi-illiterate haters have no clue what I am talking about. Try doings some research versus living off of sports talk radio. I see some of the same things in Keegan Bradley, Kevin Na, and one or two others.

My guess is the haters also make fun of “retards” or people who are a little different.

You can’t even spell Asperger’s, your conjecture is based on your fandom.

          Jun 30, 2015 at 3:09 pm

Who cares how it’s spelled?! Lol.. Point is good that he is a strange kind of jerk.. Why does a multi major champ need to show up a fan? Why is golfwrx so stretched for talent they have people writing about this?

That’s just Bubba I guess, but the post is accurate that you don’t see other major winners doing this, makes him look like a dumb dumb..

        Jun 30, 2015 at 5:30 pm

Yeah you have no idea what you’re talking about. If you did, you would clearly see that nothing about Bubba’s actions speak to Autism Spectrum Disorder (aka Asperger’s). Problems interacting with the social and emotional world? Look up most of his youtube videos and bubba bash…hardly seems like he’s having a difficult time interacting.

Would be better if he said, “I’m not going right of that tree or left of that tree. I’m going over that tree….with a little draw.”

What GolfWRXers are saying about Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons which he has in the bag at this week’s CJ Cup. WRXers have been commenting on the switch and the clubs themselves in our forums.

For lots more photos, check out the full thread here.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • btyh: “Holy offset.”
  • Glf_LU: “These are interesting. Not going to make a rush to judgement until I see them in person. It does look like a little more offset than I would expect to see in this model.”
  • bcflyguy1: “Kisner is not one to make a lot of equipment changes (see the GBB driver he’s still using), so if these do have staying power in his bag that will be interesting to see. I have to wonder if there’s something different about his set, because like others have mentioned there appears to be more offset on his than I recall seeing in the samples I’ve had in hand.”

WATCH: PGA Tour players play hole blindfolded and it’s hilarious/amazing

Published

on

As part of a Srixon campaign, four PGA Tour players recently participated in a three-hole challenge, with each hole being a different game; hole No. 1 was blindfolded, hole No. 2 was costumes and distractions, and hole No. 3 was alternate shot with a baseball bat. The teams were Smylie Kaufman and Sam Ryder against Shane Lowry and Grayson Murray.

Watch the full video below, since it is quite entertaining (albeit not the type of golf that Old Tom Morris surely had in mind), but in particular, make sure to check out the first hole where Lowry and Ryder play a full hole completely blind folded. It’s amazing to watch how badly Ryder struggles, and how Lowry nearly makes par.

Cleveland-Srixon’s marketing department has been hard at work crafting these viral-esque ad campaigns; if you remember, former long-drive champion Jamie Sadlowski recently dressed as 80-year-old Grandpa Jamie to fool range-goers. That video has since gathered over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
