adidas Golf Introduces crossflex Footwear
Lightweight, Athletic Style Performance and Comfort Through Geometry
adidas Golf, a global leader in golf footwear innovations and performance technologies, is launching crossflex, an ultra-lightweight athletic shoe (10.6 ounces) for the active golfer.
Created for golfers who want style, breathable performance, flexibility and extreme comfort, crossflex looks and feels more like a running shoe than a traditional golf shoe. Built on a running last with spikeless, geometric outsole this innovative shoe delivers cushioning and performance that transitions easily from the golf course to the street.
“Lightweight footwear is dominating the industry and the natural performance trend has made its way into golf,” said Bill Price, VP of adidas Golf footwear. “With crossflex, you have long-lasting cushioning on and off the course with the advanced performance and style to be the next step in revolutionizing the way golfers approach the game.”
The outsole consists of 96 strategically-placed triangular traction lugs which sit on 16 flexible hexagonal pods, allowing the foot to move freely while providing multi-directional support and grip. Each opposing triangular shape was engineered with unique physical properties that engage and adapt to varying ground surfaces to provide stability and traction where it’s needed most. Connecting each pod throughout the outsole are flex channels designed to increase energy return step after step. The result is increased traction and reduced fatigue through geometry.
A waterproof mesh upper features medial and lateral engineered stitching, an internal gusset that secures the foot, and a lightweight TPU toe-shield for enhanced stability and durability.
crossfelx is offered in medium width, carries a ClimaProof® two-year waterproof warranty, and is available in a choice of four colorways: White/Black/Red, White/White/Satellite, Black/Black/Slime and Light Gray/Black/White.
Available at retail on June 1, 2012 with an MSRP of $100 USD.

Never in a million years. I like the looks of the shoe, but come on, why buy a shoe with fake spikes that will only wear out ? This sole will collect dirt and mud just like regular golf shoes, but have a much more limited lifetime.
