Nike TW ’15 Golf Shoes
Tiger’s newest golf shoes — Nike’s TW ’15 — made its debut via Tiger Woods’ Twitter account before a practice round at the 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open. It’s woven with technology that makes it 10 percent lighter than its predecessor.
MY FOOTWORK HAS NEVER BEEN BETTER. EXCITED TO PUT THEM IN PLAY THIS WEEK. #TW15 PIC.TWITTER.COM/ABCQVOJLPV
— TIGER WOODS (@TIGERWOODS) JANUARY 27, 2015
Woods and Tobie Hatfield, Nike’s Senior Director of Athlete Innovation, collaborated on the design, which has Nike’s new Flyweave technology to give it a flexible, stable and form-fitting upper.
[quote_center]“Nike keeps answering the bell every time I want to push the envelope,” Woods said. “The new Flyweave technology provides even more stability and support for my foot, and when you pair that with the Free-inspired outsole, I noticed I can push off the ground better and finish my swing with power.”[/quote_center]
Flyweave first debuted in a Nike basketball shoe in 2014 and uses a one-piece woven upper that has a greater strength-to-weight support for stability during the swing, while offering the lightweight flexibility golfers require.
The Nike Free-inspired outsole on the TW ’15 also sits 3 millimeters lower than the TW ’14, and Integrated Traction in the toe area offers more flexibility, allowing golfers to better harness power throughout the swing without suffering from traction issues.
“TIGER EPITOMIZES POWER,” SAID HATFIELD. “HIS POWER STARTS WITH NATURAL MOTION WHICH BEGINS WITH UNLEASHING THE FOOT FROM THE GROUND UP. FLYWEAVE GIVES YOU THAT FLEXIBILITY COUPLED WITH SUPPORT.”
Nike’s TW ’15 shoes will be available on Nike’s website Feb. 2 as part of a limited run. The shoe will hit stores on March 5 (preorder Feb. 12) for $250 (MSRP) in three color ways (University Red/Black), (Metallic Silver/Black) and (Black/White).

Don’t love these. I have a pair of the white TW ’13s and they’re the best golf shoe i’ve ever owned (much better than the ’14s). If I can’t find another pair of them somewhere in my size, I’d go with the new Lunar Control 3’s before the TW ’15s.

best golf shoe is Adidas 360 Tour – most stability then ever.

As an owner of the TW ’13s and 14s, which I agree were the best shoes made to the date, I am very excited for these. I’m gonna have to compare them with the Adidas Energy Boost, though, as I am on my second pair of the running shoes. Believe me, you’ve got to try the boost. It’s the most revolutionary foam in a shoe ever in my opinion. It makes every other shoe feel like walking in chunks of hard plastic. They just feel so different.

ok, maybe sharks have scales—but that still doesn’t mean they can play golf.

Octopus beaks and shark scales?
1. Sharks don’t have scales
2. Sharks don’t have scales
3. Why would an octopus’ beak have anything to do with a good golf shoe?
4. Lion feathers.

I’ve been a strong supporter of Nike sneakers / shoes (golf / tennis / basketball / cross-trainers) for over 25 years. In my opinion, there have only been two sneakers / shoes that were not better (or arguable worse) than a prior year’s product. . . The ’01 / ’02 Nike Zoom Tennis sneaker (the most uncomfortable competition tennis sneaker I’ve ever worn) and the TW ’14 (absolutely crippling over an 18-hole round – walking). The Lunar Controls have been great, the prior iterations of TW’s golf shoe (pre-free motion design) are great, even the 04′ nike shox golf sneaker were super comfortable. . . The newer TW’s, not so much. Just my opinion, I’m sure others differ.

This won’t be for everyone (obviously from the price point), but I like how Nike is getting their golf shoe collection in line with their other lines of sneakers (Jordan, etc) with the limited releases – makes perfect sense. I have a pair of the mesh version of the TW 14’s that I got through Nike ID, and I’ll probably get a pair of these as well. There’s a market of golf “sneakerheads” that these limited releases cater to – count me among that breed.
The high price points make sense when you know the shoe will be in high demand. Leads to reduced prices on the older models as well. Everyone wins.

I won 82 PGA tours by practicing with bare feet. Save the 200 bucks and cut a few strokes off your game by investing a solid lesson.
Jay
Jan 28, 2015 at 2:47 pm
Can’t you do both? Unless you’ve won 82 times, no one wants to see your bare feet on the course, lol. #buyapair

Jan 27, 2015 at 8:52 pm
I’ve still wear 2 pairs of the 8.5 and the 13’s I will give these a shot too when the price comes down. 13’s are the most comfortable. Yes, I am a shoe Ho!

Jan 27, 2015 at 6:44 pm
I notice Rory and a lot of other players not all of them Nike staffers are very happy with the lunars, the only person other than tiger I have seen wear the tw shoe is Francesco molinari. Says a lot about a shoe when virtually no one other than the guy who’s name is on them will wear them. I would buy the lunars because they are better in wet weather and cheaper. Pros don’t need to worry about those considerations and yet many of them still don’t wear them.
Kyle
Jan 27, 2015 at 6:54 pm
Other pros don’t wear them because they have TW on them….
Michael
Jan 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm
Exactly what Kyle said. Not many athletes want to wear a shoe with someone elses name on them. Not to mention a lot of tour players are not allowed to wear competitors shoes.
Greg
Jan 27, 2015 at 6:17 pm
I still wear the TW 13 shoe. one of the most comfortable shoes I have worn. I still like the tour premiums the best though! The old guys always have a stupid comment about them…and I’m 56

Lots of experts here telling us how bad these shoes are without seeing the in person, let alone testing them in real playing conditions.

Jan 27, 2015 at 5:23 pm
And why would you have fewer spikes in the wrong places, when guys like Ben Hogan ADDED spikes on the edges so they have more grip? What a stupid shoe
Kyle
Jan 27, 2015 at 6:55 pm
Yeah because Ben hogan had all of the technology back then to know where the optimal places for spikes were..

I wouldn’t doubt he’s still conscious of his knee problems and torquing while having your feet stapled to the ground isn’t the best idea. You need a little slippage.

These things have slippery written all over them. Not for the early morning dew crowd or the rain players. Careful. I think you can’t beat the new Lunars that Rory is sporting when it comes to Nike’s golf shoes.
