Posting scores from international courses, how do you do this on GHIN? Options

If i play a course in Mexico and shoot even par, how do i post that towards my USGA handicap?

as long as you have the rating and slope, you can enter your score in GHIN. Do the internet entry system if you can, as that is easiest way to do it.

However, if you do not have that (no USGA rating) then no way to enter the score.

I played a bunch of times in Scotland recently and some courses had USGA ratings and others only the "SSS" rating they use (no slope) so those ones, I cannot enter in my handicap. Frustrating but that is the way it is.

The European system uses slope as well. I am not sure why the UK has not adopted that. I worked with their handicap system and it is not very good, in my opinion. Your handicap can drop like a stone with one great round but to get back to where it was before, you would need 10 or so horrid rounds. Not really a fair way, if you ask me,. And with no slope, makes it tough for a higher handicapper to have a fair shot against a low handicapper.

The spirit of the slope is not captured in the UK system, which is unfortunate.

It also hurts big time if playing handicapped tourneys with UK players against most other country's golfers (that use a slope rating system). The US system tends to capture more of a 'potential' ability whereas the UK system is more average. A player from the US with a 9 handicap, for example, may be a 10 or 11 under their system. Hence, a US player is disadvantaged relative to UK counterpart if competing in a handicapped tourney.
