There are some players that you watch on television and while you appreciate the extraordinary quality of their game, you are grateful that there is a wide digital divide between you and them. On the other side of the scale, there are players that you love to play with, your buddies that guarantee every day on the golf course is going to be an afternoon of beers, birdies and belly laughs.  But what if there was a guy who combined the best of both — the ultimate hybrid?

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Graeme McDowell.

I spent some quality time with McDowell at Chicago’s Glen Club, getting an up close look at the swing that made him the 2010 U.S. Open champion and the personality that made him one of the Tour’s most popular players among his fellow competitors as well as the fans.
