Donald Trump to LPGA: You’re fired (or could be, at least)!
Donald freakin’ Trump. It all follows from the hair, doesn’t it? The lord of gilding, earth moving, and faux-European luxury told Golf Channel’s Matt Ginella that he’s a “plus 5 at contracts,” likely as part of an extended gloat regarding his decision to remind the LPGA of Turnberry’s exit door.
Trump, of course, is the owner of the now-called Trump Turnberry, and the LPGA Tour is slated to contest the Ricoh Women’s British Open there in two weeks. Obviously, then, Commissioner Mike Whan will not be relocating the event (he had said as much prior to Trump’s letter) and Trump won’t force them to. However, the “you report to me, and I hold the power-” style letter is classic Trump. Likewise, signing a business letter with a Sharpie.
The business magnate clearly wants to get out ahead of any further tour event defections from his courses as a result of what can only be described as staggeringly xenophobic comments that have little basis in reality regarding Mexicans, illegal immigrants, and the Mexican government.
Amid a toothless joint statement of disapproval from golf’s governing bodies, the PGA has already moved the Grand Slam of Golf from his Trump National Los Angeles. And while this may be a token gesture and a mere PR gambit, there’s always the possibility that the Tour could elect to move the WGC-Cadillac Championship from Trump National Doral and the Puerto Rico Open from Trump International Golf Club if it gets hot enough in the kitchen.
Thus, it’s sort of a “You can’t fire me, I quit!” type of situation for the Donald here, plus-5 contract handicapper that he is.
Stay tuned to see what happens with this subplot of absurdity in the Donald Trump Saga.

What GolfWRXers are saying about Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons
In our forums, our members have been discussing Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons which he has in the bag at this week’s CJ Cup. WRXers have been commenting on the switch and the clubs themselves in our forums.
For lots more photos, check out the full thread here.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- btyh: “Holy offset.”
- Glf_LU: “These are interesting. Not going to make a rush to judgement until I see them in person. It does look like a little more offset than I would expect to see in this model.”
- bcflyguy1: “Kisner is not one to make a lot of equipment changes (see the GBB driver he’s still using), so if these do have staying power in his bag that will be interesting to see. I have to wonder if there’s something different about his set, because like others have mentioned there appears to be more offset on his than I recall seeing in the samples I’ve had in hand.”

WATCH: PGA Tour players play hole blindfolded and it’s hilarious/amazing
As part of a Srixon campaign, four PGA Tour players recently participated in a three-hole challenge, with each hole being a different game; hole No. 1 was blindfolded, hole No. 2 was costumes and distractions, and hole No. 3 was alternate shot with a baseball bat. The teams were Smylie Kaufman and Sam Ryder against Shane Lowry and Grayson Murray.
Watch the full video below, since it is quite entertaining (albeit not the type of golf that Old Tom Morris surely had in mind), but in particular, make sure to check out the first hole where Lowry and Ryder play a full hole completely blind folded. It’s amazing to watch how badly Ryder struggles, and how Lowry nearly makes par.
What happens when 4 #PGATOUR pros take a day off?
Luckily, the cameras were rolling.

Cleveland-Srixon’s marketing department has been hard at work crafting these viral-esque ad campaigns; if you remember, former long-drive champion Jamie Sadlowski recently dressed as 80-year-old Grandpa Jamie to fool range-goers. That video has since gathered over 1.2 million views on YouTube.

Maybe some one should tell Mr. Trump, a self-proclaimed +5 in contracts, that the LPGA doesn’t run the Women’s British Open.

Ben, perhaps you should speak with a family who lost their daughter to an illegal, a 5 time deported and still here illegal, with multiple convictions, I bet they would disagree with your view. So too might the parents of a young man in the Phoenix area, as well as hundreds of families across this nation whose lives have been turned upside down due to crimes by illegals. Attack the messenger, ignore the message, that is your approach? Apparently. What Trump said was “Mexico” referring to the Mexican Govt, the same Govt which let the world’s most wanted man escape because they refuse to turn him over to another country for imprisonment. That same Mexican govt who allowed the San Francisco killer to re-enter the US 5 times. So, what’s your stance on sanctuary cities? I say cut them off of every nickel of Federal money until they obey the law. Funny how this Admin takes Arizona to court for trying to enforce the border yet stands by while SF and others violate Fed law. Ben, you could be the next victim of an illegal crime.

Ben probably likes El Chapo aka Joaquín Archivaldo Guzmán the drug dealer who says he wants to kill Trump for speaking up on the border invasion. El Chapo should know because he has killed thousands of people in Mexico. Ben’s kind of guy.

I love this not because its Trump but because its someone standing up to the PC BS that is essentially blackmailing and bullying every thing in its way into submission OR ELSE!
Everyone is so afraid to say anything in this environment and if someone does say anything that does not fall in line with the MSM narratives then they are attacked until they are fired, resign, lose all their money, threatened, etc…whats worse is that its starting to trickle down to others who have nothing to do the “infraction” yet feel the need to throw their “apology hat” into the ring to either A. avoid any confrontation or B. try to get some good PR for being “down for the cause.”
How do you avoid the constant PC bullying??? The same way you deal with the playground bully who goes around telling everyone he/she will hurt you if you dont give them your lunch money…you punch them in the nose. Trump is punching these PC weasels in the nose and I LOVE IT.

They would vote for satan if he ran against Jesus for president
And you all know who I am talking about so there is no need to reply.

One other major point that should be corrected in the article: Puerto Rico Open from Trump International Golf Club – isn’t even owned by DT. They simply license his name

Why Whan didn’t contact the Donald before issuing that lame comment to the media. I hope the Donald makes Michael Whan spit shine his shows and let him use his old lady for a couple minutes when he shows up to the Trump Turnberry.

Trump knows the following: Nobody watched women’s golf and the only reason he had this tournament there was so that he could get other majors in the men’s game at his resorts. After his comments (which weren’t even bad IMO) he knows that he won’t get another major ever, so at this point it’s to his benefit for this event to go somewhere else, he keeps the deposit, and opens play up to the paying public.

Yes, GolfWRX should not allow their [so-called] writers to convey their political opinions. It is obvious writer Ben Alberstadt has no clue about politics, or the topic of illegal immigrants, and very likely not much knowledge about golf. He needs to go…

I thought Golf WRX was supposed to avoid politics? Another loon who thinks wide open borders are a good thing along endless benefits for invaders. Golf will not be doing too well when the country starts default on pensions and others things. Idiots think this money printing is sustainable. Americans and other suffer from normalcy bias and may been in for a rude economic awakening in the very near future.

Mr. Trump is absolutely right in what he told the LPGA commissioner. The LPGA commissioner forgot to think before he made his [VERY] stupid public statement. It is really very troubling that the LPGA commissioner does not understand that Mr. Trump and the Trump Turnberry club’s members are ‘allowing’ the LPGA to tie up the course for many weeks for this tournament. Mr. Trump, nor the Trump Turnberry course, needs the recognition of the LPGA holding their Ricoh Women’s British Open there.

his statement about illegal immigrants was fact and spot on. If you would only read the whole statement instead of picking it apart you would realize that. But you people in the media don’t do that. You have an agenda and you decide to report your own toothless arguments. I thought WRX was better than that but you keep proving otherwise.
Charles
Jul 14, 2015 at 12:53 pm
Right you are! Mr. Trump was deadly accurate in what he said about illegal immigrants, but the media took his words and twisted them to make him look bad. Mr. Trump is a big boy – he’ll have the last laugh with those people. He does not hold back!

Jul 14, 2015 at 3:01 pm
His comment wasn’t about illegal immigrants. It was about Mexico, the Mexicans emigrating from Mexico, and the Mexican immigrants currently living here. It had nothing to do with illegals. Do you really think that so many companies (NBC, Univision, ESPN, etc.) would sever their contracts if Trump had only said we have a problem with illegal immigrants and we need to secure our border?
Pat M
Jul 14, 2015 at 5:35 pm
Nonsense. The vast majority are illegal aliens. Uncontrolled immigration is bankrupting America. Greedy doctors and the healthcare system are not helping matters.

I’ll enjoy the day i can go online or turn on the radio and not hear from/about Donald Trump. Yes, we get it, Donald. You are a successful businessman and are very rich and powerful. Congratulations. He’s just throwing a tantrum and flexing his money muscle.
