Photos from the Tour Championship

Published

on

GolfWRX is live this week from East Lake Golf Club for the Tour Championship, the finale for the 2014 FedEx Cup Playoffs. The par-70 layout will measure 7,154 yards for the championship.

Usually, the Tour Championship hosts the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings, but will only host 29 this year since Dustin Johnson qualified in the last spot but will not be playing due to a leave of absence. Chris Kirk is atop the FedEx Cup standings, with Billy Horschel, Bubba Watson, Rory McIlroy and Hunter Mahan all within 1,000 points.

This week’s event is worth 2,500 points, meaning players can jump drastically in the standings with a victory. Last year, Henrik Stenson won the Tour Championship by three shots over Jordan Spieth and Steve Stricker, which also gave him the FedEx Cup title and the $10 million prize.

Check out our photos this week from the Tour Championship.

Spotted: Bettinardi “Tire Kicker Tom” putter covers

Published

on

Photos of a limited-edition Bettinardi putter cover have hit the GolfWRX Forums.

According to the company, the covers, which debut at this week’s Honda Classic, feature Tommy the Tire Ticker.

Who exactly is Tommy the Tire Kicker? Per Bettinardi

“Tommy the Tire Kicker” the constant wavering, “should I buy, should I not?”… hands in the pocket walking in circles… “How much is it?”. “Can you get me a better deal?”, Play golf with a guy like this? This custom Tire kicker headcover is just for them, or is it?! Designed by Sam Bettinardi for all those that need Tommy to give in and make up his mind! This sharp red perforated leather cover was made in limited quantities and is debuting this week in Palm Beach Gardens, FL this week’s Tour stop. If you act anything like Tommy when deciding to purchase, it might be too late!”

Spoiler: It is too late. The limited release of these leather beauties from Bettinardi’s Hive have sold out; the beehive is bare. However, at least you can still check out the photos!

Thanks to photographer Mladen Aleksandrov, GolfWRX was live from the 2018 European Tour Properties Senior Championship at Lighthouse Resort & Spa in Balchik, Bulgaria.

For those who don’t know, this tour is essentially the equivalent to America’s Champions Tour, and this event hosted legends such as Ian Woosnam and Jarmo Sandelin. Magnus P Atlevi took home this year’s title, winning by three shots over Stephen Dodd.

Check out our photos from the event, including a bit of culture and a bit of golf equipment. Enjoy!
