PXG launches new Gen5 irons
PXG has today unveiled its new Gen5 irons, which arrive in three head shapes, as well as a driving iron option.
The irons feature a new proprietary core, XCOR2, and a Power Channel behind the face. The innovative new core results from a multi-year collaboration with material experts to develop a polymer specifically for PXG irons that is lighter and faster.

The Power Channel is designed to aid additional face loading at impact, increase the coefficient of restitution (COR) and transfer more energy back into the golf ball for faster ball speeds and more distance. Combined with the thinnest face in golf, the overall system aims to provide explosive performance and excellent soft feel.

The Gen5 irons also integrate Precision Weighting Technology, a sizeable adjustable weight located near the center-of-gravity (CG) on the back of the clubhead. This enables golfers to experience various head weight configurations quickly and easily during a fitting.

In addition, the all-new irons have a complex, five-times forged body geometry. Each clubhead is also CNC milled to create an exact, thin-walled, high-performance design.
The new irons from PXG are available in the following three head shapes

PXG 0311 XP irons: “Easy to hit, and provide formidable forgiveness and cannon like distance”
PXG 0311 P irons: “Introduce a sweet balance between forgiveness and playability”
PXG 0311 T irons:“Designed to put skilled golfers in total control of every shot”
PXG 0311 X driving iron: “Designed for golfers seeking maximum distance on tight fairways or in adverse conditions.”
PXG’s 0311 Gen5 irons are priced at $349 and are available in Chrome and an exclusive Xtreme Dark finish as part of a new Black Label Elite TM offering.

Odyssey extends Damascus Milled lineup with 3 new putters
Odyssey Golf announced Tuesday that the already popular Damascus Milled putter lineup is getting more options.
Initially launched back in April, only in a Damascus Milled #7 head (in plumbers or double bend configurations), the family grows to four with a One Wide, Two and Rossie S shape, all available in the second limited-edition drop at retail on June 6th.
“Damascus Steel is a beautiful material, and the patterns tell the story, because every one is different” said Odyssey General Manager, Jacob Davidson. “But what stands out is that as beautiful as these putters are, the feedback from Tour has been the exceptional feel of these putters. We wanted to deliver the most premium performance-driven putter we’ve ever done at Odyssey. When you look at this product, we have so much confidence because there is not one thing we’d do different. On this one we really took our time over the last couple years to try to perfect the design.”
Created from a layered construction of multiple steel alloys, this Damascus Steel insert is forged, folded and pressed to create a unique, striking pattern in every piece. Think of it like a fingerprint. Each Damascus construction comes with its own 1-of-1 style pattern. No offerings will ever look the same.
The layered structure, combined with a specialized heat treatment, delivers a finely tuned, highly responsive feel different from other insert materials. The Damascus steel is audibly different compared to other inserts, potentially with slightly more feedback. Odyssey also uses AI-designed back contours to maintain consistent ball speed across the face, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern tech.
Each head in the line is precision-milled from stainless steel and features a blasted silver finish to complement the Damascus insert and sole plates.
With Tour feedback, Odyssey has also developed, in collaboration with Golf Pride, a grip featuring meticulously crafted edges, pistol shaping and a classic modern tour feel.

L.A.B. Golf launches new VZN.1i putter
L.A.B. Golf has been the pioneer when it comes to Lie Angle Balanced putters for years now. When you talk to another golfer and zero torque putters comes up, as it will since it is the hottest thing in golf, the first brand out of their mouthes is L.A.B. Golf. Currently their putter line up has something for every golfer, wether your like blades or mallets. But the company has a new creation for golfers that we saw out on tour just a few weeks ago and is now available to us, the VZN.1i putter.

One of the big stories with the new VZN.1i putter is alignment in the form of the shape. L.A.B. has always given us plenty of alignment options in their putters with different line formations and shapes that can be laser etched onto the top of the putter. With this new design they used the shape of the head and the open cavity in the middle to help enhance the alignment for players. These shapes help players lock into their intended line to improve accuracy and concistency.
“VZN.1i was approached formulaically by combining everything we’ve learned from the success of previous L.A.B. Golf models into a familiar mallet shape that’s easy on the eyes and even easier to putt with,” said Cameron Day, Senior Vice President of Product at L.A.B. Golf. “Every L.A.B. putter is engineered to roll the ball on its intended line through Lie Angle Balance technology. With VZN.1i, we took things a step further by simplifying another critical aspect of putting: alignment.”

Like most of the other L.A.B. mallet putters the VZN.1i is machined from a solid block of aluminum and features a 303 stainless steel face insert. Steel face inserts on all L.A.B. putters not only enhance the sound and feel but they improve ball speed for better distance control. The new shaping also offers two ways of picking up your ball, using the sole or the rear flange can scoop up the ball. The company is offering the VZN.1i with a 1.5 degree forward shaft lean or a vertical shaft option in order to fit more golfers. Each VZN.1i is hand balanced and 10 other stages before it is complete and ready to ship. L.A.B. has its custom program where the golfer can select their length and lie but also head color, shaft upgrades, and grips to make their VZN.1i fit them perfectly.

The VZN.1i is available now starting at $499 for stock models and $599 for custom.

2026 Edition: Most comfortable walking shoe? – GolfWRXers discuss
In our forums, one user has asked a question sure to interest all sorts of golfers. What’s the most comfortable walking shoe of 2026?
@RobDMB posed the following question:
“Looking for suggestions/recommendations on the currently available most comfortable walking shoes – preferably waterproof. Essentially looking for something comfortable like a running shoe, but with some stability and waterproof for golf. Decent room in toe box as well. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!”
Our members in the forum have been sharing their own recommendations on the best walking shoes that can also survive a number of golf rounds. Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- SheriffBooth: “To check all your boxes I’d vote for whichever of the current Nike lineup fits your feet the best. Obviously the Victory Pro 4 and Victory Tour 4 are good enough for the two best players in the world, but the new Pegasus, Next% Tour 3, and Tempo all look really good too.”
- i*windows: “when I had issues with my feet I played in Asics running shoes they were a little bit like the hoka’s above, very comfortable, now I’m back to Ecco shoes which are great.”
- mshills: “Everyone’s feet are different so this will be a long list of lots of different shoes. For me, anything from Ecco’s Biom lineup. Nothing else comes close.”

Great looking irons! I especially like the reserve elite looks. Just ordered a set of the 0311t’s. Unlike Mizuno, I won’t have to wait months while they figure out who ordered what…LMAO

They certainly are committed to the screw aesthetics on the club. From the beginning they have had that same style with the screws. Not sure why it hasn’t evolved much?

They should charge more for their woods. One iron is the price of one of their fairways.

I’ve seen some really bad players game PXG, but never anyone good.
These clubs are for people who like to spend a lot of money playing badly.

Why did they make them so ugly? These are the ugliest irons on the market from any major OEM

PXG – The place good golfers go to get lost. Zach Johnson is about to lose his tour card. WISE UP! – Billy Horschel and Lydia Ko did.

Eventually maybe they’ll get it right. Keep marking down the previous Gen and doing it again. But currently, everyone who leaves PXG wins one of their first events with new gear (Lydia Ko, CHIII, Billy Horschel). Zach Johnson should head that notion. Zach used to be in the top 20 each week with Titleist. Now Zach is world 220 and may lose his tour card.
Every 30 handicapper at my club plays PXG.

What has ever justified the price of these clubs? Even if price was no issue, why these over other clubs? I’ve never seen a material difference.

Another price complainer. If you don’t want to pay for them there are other options. There is a huge difference in quality especially with the 0311ST irons. Problem is almost nobody fits into that category.

GP would that quality be the 13th at the masters? “head flying off”, plus every pro that has left PXG has played better – Billy and Lydia!
Rich Douglas
Apr 15, 2022 at 8:05 pm
Pretty rude.
I didn’t complain about price. I was talking about value. What justifies the huge difference? Is there a material advantage over others? The price, when brought into the conversation, magnifies the issue. It’s not the issue itself.
I recently paid a fitter about $250 a club for the iron set I use now. It’s not about the money.
I think this is about vanity, which makes it even worse. It means paying a higher price for the same performance as other clubs. It makes buyers into suckers.

People worried about what other people decide what has value to them and what they decide to spend their own money shouldn’t matter to anybody else.
You’re not going to to buy PXG so what do care about anything they do?

This is a discussion thread about clubs. My question is a legitimate one. Note that no one–no one at all–has made a case for these irons…at any price.
Just feeding egos.

You’ve seen only bad golfers play PXG? Is a +2 considered a good golfer in your bizarre view? PXG irons feel better than my Mizuno Tours. Best feeling irons I’ve hit.
Some people have a very strange reaction to PXG. Guess what? You don’t need to play PXG irons and I don’t have to play your irons. But the irons are excellent. The comment about only bad players play PXG is extremely stupid. I’ll let you in on a big secret: Most golfers aren’t very good. Regardless of the irons they play.

At 84, I’m a seasoned golfer. very seasoned, and have bought clubs for 70 years, including working in a golf store for a couple of years. Just bought their woods, and found the fitting process to be outstanding. The owner has turned the golf club business into a very different and stylish setting, and a quality golf club that is remarkable. In 5 years he’s now number 2 in retail sales, and it’s very understandable when you see the club price options and a fitting process that costs $50.00 smart dollar investment. Plus a putter choice that is really special. Well done, PXG.

You know the sales figures of a private company that doesn’t disclose sales figures? …..Of course you don’t, which means you made up the #2 in retail sales statement (likely closer to #7 behind Calloway, Taylormade, Ping, Titleist, Cobra & Mizuno). Ask anyone in connection with a competing OEM brand and you’ll notice no one is worried by PXG anymore. When they stated fitting folks over the phone for irons, the brand sold its soul for a quick dollar.
Huh...
Apr 14, 2022 at 5:44 pm
Ummm, PXG isn’t #2 in retail sales even in their own stores…
