Callaway unveils new X Forged and X Forged Max irons
Callaway Golf has today unveiled its new X Forged and X Forged Max irons.
Originally launched to the Japan market, the X Forged irons gained popularity in 2024 on the DP World Tour, the Asian Tour, and on the ladies’ KLPGA and JLPGA tours. As Callaway tour reps noticed globally, better players took a strong liking to the new Japan-only X Forged irons due to their tri-sole construction that helped with turf interaction on various grass conditions, as well as the one-piece, 1020-carbon feel and the high-toe look at address.

X Forged

Crafted from a single piece of 1020 Carbon steel, the X Forged irons are designed to deliver the crisp sound and soft feel that discerning players seek.
Targeted for professionals and elite ball strikers, the irons feature a streamlined cavity back, compact profile, minimal offset, and a thin topline.

In addition, the X Forged irons feature a tri-level sole with beveled leading and trailing edges, in a bid to promote smooth turf interaction and precise ball control through impact.
X Forged Max

Also crafted from a single piece of 1020 Carbon steel, the X Forged Max irons are designed to deliver the soft feel and crisp sound preferred by better players—along with a mid-compact profile that aims to blend workability, feedback, and forgiveness.
X Forged Max features a more player-friendly cavity back and offset, mid-compact profile, and a refined topline—crafted to appeal to the eye of the better player looking for workability and forgiveness.
In addition, the X Forged Max irons feature a tri-level sole with beveled leading and trailing edges, in design to promote smooth turf interaction and excellent ball control through impact.

Spotted: Titleist GTS USWO headcovers
GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore was at Riviera Country Club this last week in Los Angeles for the U.S. Women’s Open. While browsing the photos, I spotted a recent major trend in headcovers. That is, the Titleist GTS headcover line expands the majors theme.
Seen on the bag of Natalia Guseva were the red, white, and blue Titleist GTS covers. This is the third time we have seen limited-edition Titleist major covers, the others being at the Masters and the PGA Championship. But with the launch of the GTS line back at the Texas Children’s Houston Open in March, this is the first time we have seen Titleist come out with major themed head covers for the season (driver headcovers through hybrids).
Check out some photos below.

At the Masters, we saw the familiar Masters green, white, and yellow. While the PGA Championship design was colors synonymous with the Philadelphia Eagles NFL team. This shows the season major drops continue full steam ahead for major OEMs. New opportunities for each major for designs and themes, and who knows, maybe a lucky spark for a player and a major championship for their resume. It gets the wheels turning for what major theme headcover you would keep on your bag for the whole season!
