Best putt in Ryder Cup history? Heckler shows up Team Europe
There’s been some legendary putts in the world of golf: Jack Nicklaus at the 1986 Masters, Payne Stewart at Pinehurst in 1999, Tiger Woods at Torrey Pines in 2008. Well, now we can add “Heckler at Hazeltine in 2016,” which now needs only be referred to as The Putt.
Here’s how the story goes.
Euro players trying to make putt. Keep missing. U.S. fan offers to show ’em. Justin Rose puts up $100. Guy walks out and drills it. Awesome.
— Jason Sobel (@JasonSobelESPN) September 29, 2016
There are hecklers at every single sporting event around the world, telling the players they’re bums, they stink, and that even they could do better than the athletes themselves. With all the pressure on, this guy talked the talk and walked the walk. Unbelievable.
Fan chirping Team Europe? at Ryder Cup practice?, is asked to put money where his big mouth is, for $100. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/mzlDzu2ASR

Here’s another angle of The Putt posted by Rory McIlroy below.

What GolfWRXers are saying about Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons
In our forums, our members have been discussing Kevin Kisner’s new Callaway X Forged CB irons which he has in the bag at this week’s CJ Cup. WRXers have been commenting on the switch and the clubs themselves in our forums.
For lots more photos, check out the full thread here.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- btyh: “Holy offset.”
- Glf_LU: “These are interesting. Not going to make a rush to judgement until I see them in person. It does look like a little more offset than I would expect to see in this model.”
- bcflyguy1: “Kisner is not one to make a lot of equipment changes (see the GBB driver he’s still using), so if these do have staying power in his bag that will be interesting to see. I have to wonder if there’s something different about his set, because like others have mentioned there appears to be more offset on his than I recall seeing in the samples I’ve had in hand.”

WATCH: PGA Tour players play hole blindfolded and it’s hilarious/amazing
As part of a Srixon campaign, four PGA Tour players recently participated in a three-hole challenge, with each hole being a different game; hole No. 1 was blindfolded, hole No. 2 was costumes and distractions, and hole No. 3 was alternate shot with a baseball bat. The teams were Smylie Kaufman and Sam Ryder against Shane Lowry and Grayson Murray.
Watch the full video below, since it is quite entertaining (albeit not the type of golf that Old Tom Morris surely had in mind), but in particular, make sure to check out the first hole where Lowry and Ryder play a full hole completely blind folded. It’s amazing to watch how badly Ryder struggles, and how Lowry nearly makes par.
What happens when 4 #PGATOUR pros take a day off?
Luckily, the cameras were rolling.

Cleveland-Srixon’s marketing department has been hard at work crafting these viral-esque ad campaigns; if you remember, former long-drive champion Jamie Sadlowski recently dressed as 80-year-old Grandpa Jamie to fool range-goers. That video has since gathered over 1.2 million views on YouTube.

Jason Sobel couldn’t have got it more wrong. He was heckling JRose saying he couldn’t make the putt so Stenson went over and asked him to come out and try. He didn’t offer to show them, nor did he show them up. He got lucky. That’s it. If it missed the hole, he would have been chasing off the front of the green! Well Sobel, cool moment ruined by the ugly American perspective.
As for the fans, well, clapping for bad shots, yelling out “miss” and cheering for Europes bad fortune when it came about, thaty’s just typical of redneck American football crowd, not golf. Do that at the Masters and you’ll be asked to leave and that’s the way it should be. If you don’t like it, go back to taking off your shirt and painting your face and chest in your favourite teams colours and screaming your heads off at the umpires and referees.

Lucky, considering it would have gone 20 feet past had it missed…
Not sure anyone should be encouraging hecklers. Seems like this will just encourage more such behavior. Any Europeans getting on their high horse about “American fans” should take a look at European sporting events some time. Fans can be easily as ugly and horrid on the other side of the Atlantic.

Typical big mouth American but at least he made it. Why are they such poor sports in all sports they have to win or else. Ever thought that second best is not all that bad either.

Brilliantly played by Stenson and Rose. The guy that was heckling them is now the guy who is going to be rooting both ways now!

Way to go dude you just showed him how to make the putt! That could cost us the cup again. Rors never would have figured it out. Dude putts like Els at Augusta…frequently.
