At the 2022 Charles Schwab Challenge, Sam Burns secured his second tournament title in 2025 with a dramatic playoff victory at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. Starting the day well back, his final round-65, highlighted by a front-nine 30, propelled him into a tie for the lead, setting the stage for a playoff. In the playoff, Burns clinched the win by sinking a 38-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole, edging out his close friend and World No. 1, Scottie Scheffler.
