Three Swing Challenge: Testing the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond driver

Published

on

GolfWRX’s resident Club Junkie, Brian Knudson, puts the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond driver to the test in our new Three Swing Challenge.

Why three swings?

Many years ago, the legendary Barney Adams, founder of Adams Golf, told us this:

“My formula as a fitter was three shots only. I discounted No. 1 just because it was the first one, counted 100 percent of No. 2, and discounted No. 3, because the player was starting to adjust.”

This is in line with our experience, and we believe golfers can make a meaningful judgment about a club in just a few swings.

Let us know what you want to see in the challenge next!

What’s your 3-wood? – GolfWRXers discuss

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been talking about their 3-woods. WRXer ‘Kdgolf’ is on the hunt for a new 3-wood, and our members have been sharing their suggestions as well as making arguments for their current gamer.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • phizzy30: “Still have my OG SIM ti.  It’s very hot off the face, mid launch, low spin.  Great off the tee, but you need some speed off the deck to make it come to life.  Qi10 tour is also another good one I tested and numbers were very similar to the SIM ti but it launched slightly higher.”
  • knudson81: “Cobra Darkspeed LS 3+ and add a Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Pro White 70. Absolute monster.”
  • adamwon84: “I have the AI Smoke Max 3 wood (15 degrees) and it might be the easiest club to hit from a tee or off the deck that I have ever had (when it comes to a 3 wood that is) and the distance is pretty fantastic.”
  • runningblind11: “Taylormade fairways always work best for me, I need a deeper face.  All in the last 5 years are good, but I really like the look of the Qi10 this year.   I have a 3HL and a 7 in the bag now.”
