‘Could someone suggest a good 7-wood?’ – GolfWRXers discuss

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been discussing 7-woods. WRXer ‘TheShark1’ is on the hunt for a 7-wood and kicks off the thread, saying:

“I’m thinking of ditching my longest iron and replacing it with a 7 wood. I did try a hybrid already and hit nothing but hooks. Looking for something that isn’t going to balloon on me, but haven’t had any experience with a 7 wood before so wanted to see if there are any that people have had success with one.”

And our members have been giving their suggestions in our forums.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire thread and have your say at the link below.

  • McMunch: “Ping G400 used.  I bought it on a lark at the PGASS and it has become my favorite club in the bag. For what its worth I’m 64 and can hit that club 190-200 and it holds the green. M-O-N-E-Y!”
  • Boricua Golf: “I have the Paradym 7W and it has been the best addition to the bag, I know the new smoke have a triple diamond version of the 7W which would be lower spinning, it is way easier to hit than a long iron for sure, it took my driving iron out of the bag..”
  • byoshio82: “Stealth and Stealth 2 were easy to hit. Like insanely easy to hit. Made the switch back to Titleist for this coming season so waiting on a TSR2 7 wood to get reshafted with a Ventus Blue 7X. Had a Ventus Red in my stealths at it launched too high for my liking so hoping g the Blue flights it down a bit. As on really tight and short par 4’s I will hit my 7-wood as it usually ends up about 245.”

Having read this I believed it was very enlightening.

I appreciate you finding the time and effort to put this short article together.

I once again find myself personally spending way too much time both reading and posting comments.
But so what, it was still worthwhile!

Three Swing Challenge: Testing the Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks A+ grind

Published

on

The first wedge has made its way to the Three Swing Challenge! This week we have the WedgeWorks A+ grind that was recently released by Vokey. BK is looking for a new 60-degree wedge, and this could be a contender.

Why three swings?

Many years ago, the legendary Barney Adams, founder of Adams Golf told us this:

“My formula as a fitter was three shots only. I discounted No. 1 just because it was the first one, counted 100 percent of No. 2 and discounted No. 3 because the player was starting to adjust.”
