KBS Max HL: High-launch, high-spin wood shaft introduced

Based on the same E.I. curve as the Max family of graphite iron shafts, KBS is adding a high-launch, high-spin wood shaft to its lineup with the KBS Max HL.

KBS Max HL was designed with lower-swing speed players in mind — those golfers who need a little help spinning the golf ball and getting it up in the air.

As is standard for KBS, the KBS Max HL does not have a traditional “flex designation” but rather uses a player’s swing speed to suggest a shaft weight. Details on the available weights are below.

45G: 73-80 MPH
42G: 65-72 MPH
40G: <65 MPH

Max HL is available in three different gloss finishes: KBS Red Gloss, White Gloss, and Black Gloss.

The KBS Max HL graphite wood shaft retails for $99.95.

Three Swing Challenge: Testing the Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks A+ grind

The first wedge has made its way to the Three Swing Challenge! This week we have the WedgeWorks A+ grind that was recently released by Vokey. BK is looking for a new 60-degree wedge, and this could be a contender.

Why three swings?

Many years ago, the legendary Barney Adams, founder of Adams Golf told us this:

“My formula as a fitter was three shots only. I discounted No. 1 just because it was the first one, counted 100 percent of No. 2 and discounted No. 3 because the player was starting to adjust.”
