‘Why these Titleist irons are going to be all-timers’ – GolfWRXers discuss

Published

on

In our forums, our members have been reacting to a thread heaping praise on a set of Titleist irons predicted to be “all-timers.”

WRXer MtlJeff has been playing the brand’s T150 series irons, describing them as “one of the best iron sets that has come out in a long time.”

MtlJeff writes:

“After some course time and multiple range sessions….i am confident saying these are one of the best iron sets that has come out in a long time. They are in that sweet spot that will appeal to a countless amount of golfers.

A big issue with the T100 and T100S was the topline didn’t change. The gap between T100 families and T200 was too big. The T100 family was a very thin topline, even smaller than my PXG blades to be honest. And then the T200 was kind of a different club altogether.

The T150 is kinda like a perfect club

-It’s not THAT small…..You can see the trail end even on the 5 and 6 irons. And the topline is very manageable, i would think even 7-12 index types would have no issues with this.

-That being said, it’s one of the cleanest , most beautiful looking clubheads on the market even despite being a “smaller-midsize” head.

-It’s strong lofted but the launch is very nice, pretty high. For such a sexy cavity there’s some junk down there. This is like a J-Lo club if you know what I mean.

-The sole is very midrange….it’s probably 1.5x the size of my PXG blades.

At the end of the day—To me it’s the perfect club for anyone in the <12 range. It’s a relatively generous sole, topline and blade length that is small but not like crazy small (think like smaller than ZX7 but not so much so) and it’s beautiful to look at in the bag.

I think this set is gonna absolutely crush it. I think this is one we’ll be talking about in 10 years.”

And our members have been reacting to the strong review in our forums.

Here are a couple of posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • MerryTex: “T150 is definitely an iron that takes a lot of good things from sets out on the market. Top line is nice, overall profile changes through the set visually, and the feel is good. I’d say they feel like a T100 but faster. I couldn’t get over how good the 4 iron felt in testing.”
  • falken19150: “T150s are going to be Titleist’s i210 moment.”
