Spotted: New UST Mamiya LIN-Q M40X Blue and Attas V2 shafts

Published

on

UST Mamiya had two new shafts at the Fortinet Championship this week. The one interesting graphic that stands out to me is the more common “6 TX” to designate weight and flex of the shaft. Currently, UST Mamiya uses a 6F4 (stiff) or 6F5 (X-stiff) code to specify the weight and flex.

The first looks to be an updated version of the popular, mid-launch, and low-spin, LIN-Q M40X Blue shaft. UST Mamiya’s LIN-Q series uses the company’s exclusive Q-Ply technology, and M40X material for enhanced strength while also offering superb feel. We don’t have any specifics on this new Blue shaft but it does seem to have an added “EX” logo right next to the flex on the shaft. Similar acronyms have been used previously for “enhanced stability” by UST Mamiya.

The original Attas shaft was launched around 13 years ago in its bright orange, pearl white, and black colorway. It was a mid-high launch shaft that put an emphasis on cutting-edge materials and smooth feel. UST Mamiya made many versions and profiles within the Attas line over the years, with TheAttas being the 10th generation version in 2018. Again, we don’t have specific details but TheAttas V2 will more than likely be pushing the envelope in terms of design and materials. That 10th generation Attas was a mid-high launching shaft that was mid spin, and we will eagerly await more details.
