WITB Time Machine: Rory McIlroy’s winning WITB, 2014 Open Championship

Rory McIlroy captured his first Open title at Royal Liverpool in 2014 in wire-to-wire fashion. He finished at 17 under par, topping Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler by two strokes.

The victory was McIlroy’s third major title, and he became, along with Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, the only player to win three majors by the age of 25.

At the 2022 Masters, Scottie Scheffler delivered a steely Sunday performance to capture the green jacket in the 86th contesting of the tournament. Beginning the final round with a three-stroke lead, Scheffler was steady all day, tallying a final-round 1-under 71 to finish three strokes ahead of Rory McIlroy.
