Spotted: SuperStroke’s “The Turn” limited edition, Pistol GTR 1.0 putter grips
We all love a good snack after nine holes, and SuperStroke is helping celebrate our favorite food items with its limited edition “The Turn” putter grips.
We spotted these cool new grips on the putting green at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic this week. The grips feature chips, beer, candy bars, beer, and the iconic hot dog over a navy blue background. SuperStroke made this great graphic in the Pistol Tour, Pistol 1.0, and Tour 2.0 putter grips. Unfortunately, if you want one of these great grips, it looks like all three models are currently sold out.
We also spotted a SuperStroke Pistol GTR 1.0 at the Rocket Mortgage in red, white, and blue. To me, it looks like the GTR has a slightly less aggressive arching back of the grip compared to the Pistol GT model.
According to our tour photographer, the red, white, and blue colorway in the GTR is only made for the Japanese market, unfortunately. Additionally, the image below is of Scott Stallings’ putter.
Check out the rest of our photos from the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

“To me, it looks like the GTR has a slightly less aggressive arching back of the grip compared to the Pistol GT model.”
It is a really interesting pickup by you, Brian. It sort of looks like you are right about the Pistol GTR 1.0. To me, anyway.
But according to the boilerplate info issued by Superstroke (and repeated everywhere the GTR is sold), the Pistol GTR is the same thing as the Pistol GT without the counterweight.
I’d like to know what the story is. A Pistol GT with a bit less “pistol” would be nice to try. Has anybody seen the Pitol GTR in stores?
