Pat Perez reportedly confronts journalist over ‘snarky’ comment at opening LIV event

Published

on

Alan Shipnuck, who last year wrote the book “Phil: The Rip-Roaring (and Unauthorized!) Biography of Golf’s Most Colorful Superstar” is covering this week’s LIV Golf Mayakoba, which is the first of the 2023 LIV season.

LIV Golf has attempted to make team golf a compelling part of their product, and in season two they’ve taken that plan to the next level by implementing uniforms that each of the twelve teams must wear.

Shipnuck was watching the Majesticks play on Wednesday during a practice round and commented on their uniforms via Twitter.

A day later, Shipnuck shared that he’d received some negative feedback from none other than Pat Perez, who apparently saw the tweet after it was sent and was not best pleased.

The LIV Golf teams will be out in full force starting on Friday at 1:15 PM E.T.

Cute uniforms and all.

Leaked photo appears to reveal new addition to Cam Smith’s LIV Golf side

Published

on

A leaked photo has appeared to shed light on LIV Golf’s next signing, with Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC set to welcome fellow Australian Lucas Herbert to his side.

News Corp published the photo of Lucas Herbert wearing Ripper GC attire alongside team captain Cam Smith in Mexico this week.

Hebert is a three-time winner on the DP World Tour and has also one victory on the PGA Tour. The 28-year-old is an Adidas brand ambassador and it remains to be seen should his impending move impact that relationship.

Hebert would make Ripper GC an all-Australian side, joining Cam Smith, Marc Leishman and Matt Jones.

Report: PGA Tour nearing investment deal worth up to $3 billion

Published

on

According to Bloomberg, the PGA Tour is getting close to agreeing on a massive deal with Strategic Sports Group (SSG) that could give $3 billion to the PGA Tour.

This deal would be separate from a deal that would include Saudi Arabia’s PIF and does not have anything to do with LIV or even the DP World Tour.

SSG is comprised of John Henry, who owns the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool FC, Arthur Blank, who owns the Atlanta Falcons, and Steve Cowen, who owns the New York Mets.

SSG would become a minority stakeholder and the new for-profit company called “PGA Tour Enterprises.”

The PGA Tour will continue to negotiate with the Saudi PIF with hopes of reaching a deal to achieve some unity in the sport by the end of April.

Ashley Perez aims multiple digs at Pat Perez after filing for divorce from LIV pro

Published

on

Over the weekend, LIV Golf’s Pat Perez’s wife, Ashley, took to social media to sound off about the couple’s divorce.

On one of the posts, a TikTok creator wrote, “I’m 53 and spent half my life with a narcissist.” Ashley reposted the video with her own comment attached, “Hmm. Sounds familiar. Except for the ‘Mr. Big’ part. I absolutely never referred to ‘him’ as that.”

She also posted some words over a New York Post article about their divorce that said, “I’m leaving. Sorry for your loss.”

Ashley Perez has hit the headlines in recent times after throwing shade on Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele’s wine trip to Napa, while she also took a swipe on social over Tiger Woods’ car accident.
