Wilson signs Kevin Kisner and Trey Mullinax

Published

on

Wilson announced today that they’ve signed two new players to their professional Golf Advisory Staff.

Four-time PGA TOUR winner Kevin Kisner and winner of last year’s Barbasol Championship Trey Mullinax will be added to the Wilson team that already includes PGA TOUR players John Augenstein, Kevin Chappell, Quade Cummins, Padraig Harrington, Brendan Steele, Kevin Streelman, Martin Trainer and Kevin Tway; and LPGA Tour player Sophia Schubert.

“As Wilson continues to grow in golf, we are excited to have Kevin and Trey join the Wilson team,” says Tim Clarke, President, Wilson Golf. “More players are putting Wilson golf equipment into play on worldwide professional tours every week, and we are excited to support their efforts in achieving their goals.”

Mullinax will make his Wilson debut this week as he’s set to tee it up for the Sentry Tournament of Champions at Kapalua’s Plantation course in Maui.

Kevin Kisner, who was part of the 2022 Presidents Cup team, announced his decision to sign with Wilson.

“I am excited to be partnering with Wilson Golf. Wilson is a brand I’ve always respected; rooted in heritage but always looking for new ways to evolve.

I’m quite particular about my equipment, and the clubs that I’ll be putting into play after extensive testing are second to none.”

I’m going to keep saying it. Wilson needs to make a 400cc players driver that looks traditional. Their equipment is great but they need to cater to good players.

I play the Staff Model CB. Feels as good as anything I’ve ever hit.

The current average driving distance of men and women amateur golfers by age and handicap

Published

on

Distance in the game of golf is one of the hottest topics currently in the sport, especially with the USGA and R&A’s recent announcement that a plan is in place to roll back the golf ball for professional players.

When it comes to the amateur game, just how far are you hitting the ball compared to those in your age and handicap group?

Thanks to Arccos and their recently published study, you can find that out.

Per the report, which used data based on over 20 million drives – using Driver only – from the Arccos dataset, the numbers show that men’s numbers have increased on the previous year’s study but are down on the 2018 data. At the same time, women’s distance trends are continuing a downturn.

As for age and handicap, you can check out the full data and breakdown below, which also includes accuracy off the tee.
