Cobra introduces black finish to King 3D printed and vintage series putters
Cobra Golf has today introduced the newest additions to its collection of King putters. The putter will now be available in black, which compliments Cobra’s Limited Edition Black LTDx drivers and King Black wedges.
The lineup of Black putters includes both King 3D Printed and King Vintage Series models along with two new mallet styles, the King Cuda and Cuda-40.
Cobra’s black 3D Printed putters are identical to the standard models, with the exception of the finish.
The putter offers the same technology with a 3D printed nylon lattice cartridge created using HP’s advanced Multi Jet Fusion printing technology. The 3D printed lattice structure optimizes the weight distribution within the putter chassis to deliver a high MOI design for enhanced stability and roll performance.
The new models include the Agera 30 (Slant Neck OS Mallet) and Supernova 20 and 30 (Slant Neck OS Fangs). Carryover models include the Grandsport-35 plumber, SuperNova single bend, and Agera single bend in black and silver colorways.
Along with the 3D Printed models Cobra is also offering a new “Cuda” mallet shape, and new hosel additions to the King Vintage Series Putter line, all of which feature SIK Aluminum face inserts with Descending Loft Technology (DLT) as well as an Adjustable Weighting System that allows for simple weight adjustments (additional weights sold separately).
The newest models include the King Cuda, an oversized mallet with a single bend hosel, and the King Cuda-40, with a short, slant, the King Widesport (an oversized blade with single bend hosel), and the King Stingray (an oversize mallet with a plumber neck hosel).
Carryover King models include the King Sport-45 (classic blade with plumber neck hosel), the King Sport-60 (with a flow neck hosel), the King Nova (fang shape with single bend hosel), the KING Nova-40 (with short, slant hosel), the King Stingray (oversized mallet with single bend shaft), and the King Stingray -40 (with short slant hosel).
All King Collection putters (3D Printed, $349 each, Vintage, $249 each) come standard with a Cobra SuperStroke Traxion Tour 2.0 grip and KBS Tour 120 shaft. Why Ben Griffin is making the surprising switch to a Maxfli golf ball
Ben Griffin might be a little too young to remember some of the iconic Maxfli golf balls that won on tour, but that isn’t stopping him from putting the newest Tour X ball from the brand in play. Today, Maxfli and Griffin announced an exclusive partnership that will see the PGA Tour player using the company’s four-piece golf ball.
While Griffin might be the first PGA Tour player to put a new Maxfli golf ball in play, he isn’t the first profesional golfer to do so. Lexi Thompson has been playing the Maxfli Tour golf ball on the LPGA Tour since the beginning of the 2024.

We caught up with Ben at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in Texas this week to ask him about the new ball switch.
“I was able to finally get my hands on some and try it and immediately I saw faster ball speed with the driver, which is always something every golfer wants to see.
“Then I had to test a lot around the greens and test irons, test spins, test everything like that. Basically, I came to the conclusion that I thought this was probably one of the best golf balls for my game.
“And so I decided to make it official and partner with them and very excited to help kind of launch this golf ball and see where it takes us.”
Griffin’s ball of choice is the Maxfli Tour X, a four-piece golf ball that is made for highly skilled players that want consistent distance off the driver and spin around the green. An updated core design helps add the ball speed that Griffin mentioned and two ionomer mantle layers separate low spin driver shots from higher spin iron and wedge shots. Maxfli uses Center Of center-of-gravity balancing to ensure each ball has consistent flight in the air and roll on the green. Like all golf balls on tour, the Tour X features a cast urethane cover for maximum performance, and it has a tetrahedron dimple pattern to enhance aerodynamics.
It is exciting to see a golf ball at a lower price point — $39.99 at Golf Galaxy — being used by a top 100 ranked player in the world like Ben Griffin, and equipment junkies will be keenly watching his performance with the new ball.
