@Jil62: “As many folks know, I’m a long time TaylorMade player, so the bag is heavy on TM, but it’s no longer exclusively so. The biggest change I’ve made in 2021 is the ball. I grew up playing with wound balls, and as a result my short game was built around using spin, so I switched to the Tour B XS in June to bring back more consistency around the greens. That change also prompted a putter switch back to an old favorite due to the ball’s soft feel.
My iron setup is a little funky, but using the 790 and 770 for the 3 and 4 irons, respectively, allows me to hit my launch windows with those irons. I’ve been in a constant state of iron shaft testing for the past 3 years but have finally settled on double soft-stepped X100. This lowers the weight of the shaft down to around 125g and makes the tip play a little softer. I also play S400 in my PW to match the other wedges since I mostly play less than full shots with the PW.”
Get submitting your WITB in our forum as we’ll be publishing more and more of them on our front page over the coming days and weeks.
Feel free to make it your own too by including some thoughts on your setup, your age, handicap, etc. Anything you feel is relevant!
