Club Junkie: My 3-wood search, Mizuno ST-Z driver, and Srixon divide golf ball review

Published

on

I am on the search for a 3-wood this year and talk a little about my top 3 that I have been hitting. Hit on the pros and cons of each option and what might be in the bag next week. The Mizuno ST-Z was on the course and a really good driver for players who want forgiveness but don’t need any draw bias. The Srixon Q-Star Tour Divide is a cool 2-tone ball that makes short game practice more interesting.

Club Junkie Special Edition: Visit to the TaylorMade Kingdom at Reynolds Lake with GolfWRX Members

Published

on

I just got back from Atlanta where I was with some GolfWRX members who were getting fit for the new TaylorMade Milled Grind 3 wedges at The Kingdom! The Kingdom at Reynolds Lake is one of two in the U.S. and is the premier place to get fit for TaylorMade clubs. We also played at Reynolds Lake and visited the TaylorMade tour truck at the Tour Championship.

Club Junkie: PXG Gen4 0311 ST iron review and Cleveland’s new Launcher XL driver

Published

on

The PXG Gen4 0311 ST irons might be the softest I have ever hit. A little more playable than I expected from a blade iron, they actually allow you to get away with some poor swings. The new Cleveland Launcher XL driver is meant to hit it high and straight. Can be a little loud but it performs as well as some drivers that cost $100 more.

Club Junkie: Callaway Epic Super Hybrid and TaylorMade TP Hydro Blast Putter reviews

Published

on

Callaway’s new Epic Super Hybrid is a ballspeed machine! They made a low lofted option to take the place of a fairway wood and it flies pretty flat and straight. TaylorMade’s TP Hydro Blast putters offer a head shape for anyone and the Bandon 3 is one of the most popular designs right now. The TPU Surlyn insert with Pure Roll puts a great roll on the ball with minimal skipping or hopping.
