WITB Time Machine: Rickie Fowler’s winning WITB, 2015 Players Championship
At the 2015 Players Championship, Rickie Fowler captured his elusive “big win” in steely fashion, battling Sergio Garcia and Kevin Kisner in a playoff.
Fowler played his final six holes in 6 under par to book passage to the playoff. After a three-hole sudden-death playoff ended with Fowler and Kisner still tied, the Oklahoma State alum stuffed his approach shot to five feet at the par-3 17th and rolled in the birdie putt to claim The Players trophy.
See what Fowler had in play nine years ago at TPC Sawgrass.

The MD4 C-Grind has 8* bounce, the X-Grind has 12*. Picture from the 2020 Charles Schwab WITB looks like it is a C-Grind, but he has used the X-Grind before (2018 WITB)

Imagine the tour using one standard design on clubs and balls just like MLB. Blades, persimmon, and balata.

Berger was absolutely clutch all day. Impressive final round 65 with an eagle to finish. Great win!

Just because the occasional error in grammar appears, does not lessen , the messages intent or thought. Nor the authors contribution.

10 year old irons for the win
Greg
Feb 14, 2021 at 7:58 pm
I’ve just bought new irons after 12 years relationship with mine ,,,,, does that mean I have no chance now ? ???
CrashTestDummy
Feb 15, 2021 at 3:08 pm
Only if you go back to those 12-year old irons.
Mick
Feb 14, 2021 at 8:34 pm
He has won a few times with those irons. He tried others, but went back to those. When it works, don’t jump to the ” newest” for no reason. As a club Ho, I need to learn this lesson!!
Greg
Feb 14, 2021 at 8:46 pm
Was more my previous clubs were off the rack , and they were solid set Taylor made r9 irons. I bought mizuno hot metals with graphite use shafts as I nearing 60, and they have been fitted for me nothing below 6 iron I changed 5i for 4 hybrid , super happy on early indications, extra wedge gw as well.
I don’t change that often , it’s spiral of infinitum self destruction hahahaha ,
I am off the view you can’t by a good game or swing, we all wish lol , I read lot of forum stuff and there’s a awlful lot of individuals views and opinions , that make me laugh , very shallow like some swings lol. My analogy is 2 kids walking home from school one picks up a stick and stone and hits it where he wants .keeps talking to his friend picks up another and hits it same place … no sing thoughts no grip no shaft release ….. just hit it naturally .. it will go where you want ……
Greg

So many permutations at pebble today , great viewing and greens that confound the very best in the game
Couldn’t believe some of the individual shot making and Berger eagle each day…. wow

Feb 14, 2021 at 7:55 pm
Haha you an I should play in two ball best ball lol , a lot of people discount quality of field etc, you can’t play who ain’t there , and the courses are severely tour prepped by pga . So we have only miniscule understanding of the conditions they play in comparison. When we all play it ,,, Never stops us telling our mates how good we are and how poor they played ,,,,, lol
Greg
Feb 14, 2021 at 8:03 pm
Yes , although he had chances too, was pleased for speith another performance he must be pleased he’s contented again it won’t be long now before wins again ..I’ve seen people post the field not as strong etc , can’t play who’s not there ,,, it’s still a very good field

I actually watched a good bit of this tournament for the first time in what seems like decades. And I didn’t for one moment miss having to suffer watching all the irrelevant pointless coverage of Bill Murray, Larry The Cable Guy, Kenny G, Tony Roma, Alice Cooper etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. ad nauseam. . .
Greg
Feb 14, 2021 at 8:36 pm
I saw some of that coverage and within 10 minutes, ruined off I don’t have any idea who they are other than
bill murray ,,, from Australia. An I imagine world wide it not relevant . Would rather see those who have earned a spot( players ) not bought a spot or need airtime( personalities and purported stars ) to feel good about themselves
