KBS testing new TD “Tour Driven” Prototype graphite shafts on tour

Golf equipment news was coming in just as fast as birdies last week at The American Express, and one of the most recent releases to tour players was an all-new TD Prototype shaft from KBS—makers of the extremely popular lines of KBS steel shafts.
We don’t have the full technical details of the new shafts, and KBS is without comment, but it looks like the company will be sticking to its numbered flex categorization with these prototypes all being labeled as “Category 5,” which is considered the “X” flex shafts.
Unlike some other graphite shafts, these TD prototypes aren’t giving us any clues about technology or materials—beyond the small label at the bottom of the graphics that states “Tour Only”—so it is likely that these are just prototypes of a new profile or potentially a balance point.
We will continue to follow up as more details become available, but for more info on the current line of TD “Tour Driven” graphite shafts from KBS check out our piece from their launch: KBS TD Driver shaft spotlight
