WITB Time Machine: Rory McIlroy’s winning WITB, 2015 Wells Fargo Championship
Then-No. 1 player in the world Rory McIlroy began the week at the Wells Fargo Championship at 3-1 odds, if that gives you any indication of how well the Ulsterman was playing at the time. Nothing about Barkley’s swing would suggest that he use an x stiff shaft.

I was about to ask same thing, he probably have X shafts, but they are useless in his case.
Like in most amateur cases, but hey, you looks like a pro even slicing and hooking it everywhere!

Fore sure. Stiff maybe, but not x-flex. He would have to carry the ball 260 according to MCA’s website and I don’t see Chuck doing that even on a good day. Maybe it’s a ego thing for him.

Barkley is a big guy, with heavy arms.
Heavy arms create huge momentum p=mv
The deceleration at impact(kinematic sequence) puts big stresses on the shaft: bending, droop, twisting…all good reasons for shaft tip to be as stiff as possible.
PS happy to see Charles golf swing improved once he got away from Haney.
