Lead Tape Report: Houston Open
Inspired by our friends at @leadtapechronicles, we’re happy to take a look at some applications of the sticky silver stuff at Memorial Park.
Ostensibly applied to ballstriking devices to achieve a desired swing weight, or, depending on your persuasion, adjust ball flight, lead tape also has the effect of (among aficionados, at least) making a club look damn cool.
Here are some of our favorite shots.
David Hearn with the gearhead triple whammy: 2012 TaylorMade MC irons + lead tape + a custom stamped Vokey wedge (with additional lead tape). A+ stuff, sir!
A classic lead tape application
Lead tape: not just for forged irons!
Included not because of the lead tape but because of its absence. Lefty has been spotted with roughly 300 pieces of the stuff on his wand of choice. None this week as he scales back the head weight ahead of Augusta. 
Looking to add a Hideki Matsuyama-esque pause at the top of your backswing? A little lead tape might help (or not…but at least it looks cool)!
Presumably Scott Piercy’s bag, these Titleist 690s are things of beauty.
Mav McNealy not only has vintage Nike blades in the bag, but an impressive coverall job of the lead tape variety on one of his Cally wedges.
