GolfWRX x TRENDYGOLF USA: The hottest trends in golf footwear today – Nostalgia
GolfWRX is and has been the destination for golf gear for some time—that is, everything that goes in your golf bag. But in addition to our best-in-the-industry coverage of club launches and what’s being played on tour, we want to bring you more info about exciting apparel and footwear trends in general and launches in particular.
The golf apparel and footwear landscape has changed massively since we launched the GolfWRX forums in 2008—long gone are the days of tent-sized polo shirts and saddle shoes as the only shows in town. To help play our way through the current course, we’re leaning on TRENDYGOLF USA, the self-professed “institution that wants to bring the latest designs from the trendiest designers around the world to the forefront of fashion, both on and off course.”
At GolfWRX, we believe the folks at TG USA are doing just that, and we couldn’t be happier to have them helping us with yardages and putt-reading, as it were.
For the first article in our series, we’re going to take a look at the dynamic and rapidly evolving world of golf footwear. TRENDYGOLF USA classifies golf footwear informally in the “nostalgia,” “functionality,” and “hype” categories.
First up, we’re taking a look at the nostalgia-inspired footwear. At once a new category in the golf footwear realm and the longest-tenured, the “nostalgia” footlocker is stocked with everything from the classic leather styles tour pros have favored for decades to footwear inspired by the iconic sneaker models of the ’80s and ’90s.
So lace ‘em up, and let’s walk this “nostalgia” landscape together!

Color Code: Black/New Emerald/Grape Ice
Adidas
Also joining in on the nostalgia plays from the strength of their brand, Adidas has expanded the integration of its storied footwear history into its golf shoe offerings in recent years.

Available on TG USA this week: The all-new Adidas ZX8000 Golf.
ZX8000 Golf – $130
The Adidas Originals’ ZX series was first released in 1984 and just this month Adidas Golf has created the limited-edition ZX 8000 Golf. Check out our full launch piece on the shoe here.
Stay tuned, as we’ll step into shoes designed for functionality above all else next!
