2020 Mizuno JPX Fli-Hi: Long game launch with precision
Talking combo sets and “flow” is commonplace with irons, and after giving the full rundown of the all-new JPX 921 iron series, Mizuno has one more trick up its sleeve for golfers to increase long game precision and maintain proper gapping into their longer clubs—the new 2020 Mizuno JPX Fli-Hi.
What will make the new JPX Fli Hi hybrids interesting is they won’t be found on the shelves at any retail shops and instead will only be available through custom order. They are designed to be the perfect compliment to golfers looking to fit proper hybrids into their long iron gapping with JPX 921 irons, and as a bonus, they will be the same price as the iron they might be replacing.
The technology behind the design
The new 2020 JPX Fli-Hi has gone through a full redesign to expand the COR Area for improved speed, while still offering all of the benefits of the previous line, including lie adjustability—something you don’t hear about with hybrids too often.
Unlike the previous Fli-Hi with the stepped down crown, the conversion back to a standard shape has allowed the 2020 JPX Fli-Hi to have improved acoustics and a lower deeper center of gravity. Engineers achieve this with the traditional shape because the geometry allows for the crown to be thinner. When paired with the progressive head width and face heights to keep the CG better aligned relative to the loft of the club for consistent flight windows, it creates true long iron replacements.
No gaps in this Mizuno Fli-Hi story
To further assure the JPX Fli-Hi’s remain true iron replacements and don’t create further gapping issues, a lot of time was spent to dial in the specs for each club. They feature 3/4-inch graduated lengths instead of the standard half-inch progression like with a traditional iron set, which is still shorter than standard hybrids which can be more than a full inch longer than their iron counterpart.
Specs, price, and availability
Since the JPX FliHi’s will only be available through custom order there is no stock option, but Mizuno is offering any (non-exotic) shaft along with your choice of grip for $125 per club, which is the same price per iron at the JPX921 Hot Metal series irons. it will only be available right-handed and specs ca be found below.

I currently play the JPX919 Forged, from my first round with them I was in love and wanted more and more Mizuno products. Problem with that I am a Lefty. It is getting very annoying and almost anger inducing to continue to see these amazing new products Mizuno keeps launching only to see at the end of the article: Right Handed Only. A company as big as Mizuno should be very much able to make every club they release in both right handed and left handed. I know we are “rare” in the golf community but we constantly get the shaft.
