Today from the Forums: “Blades and distance”
Today from the Forums we take a look at an interesting debate on blades amongst WRXers. Aggielefty asks fellow members whether there is a particular blade on the market which gets greater distance than others, and while most WRXers believe loft for loft they are all generally the same ( while giving other methods for maximising distance from blades ), some members share their belief that certain models do have a little extra in them.
Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.
- craz-e: “The blade potentially could just give you better launch characteristics so in that way give you better numbers.”
- puttingmatt: “Blades are player dependent when it comes to distance, you will get out of it, what you put in it. For the best parameters, loft, spin, distance, you would be better served with consistent center strikes. You can’t hide with blades, that is part of the allure.”
- golfjam: “Srixon Z forged are 1 degree stronger, and they’re definitely longer. My MP5’s are longer than MP33 or 690MB due to lofts also.”
- BMC: “I’d say it would be shaft dependent for a difference in distance.”
- fixurpitch: “Based on comments in other threads, Wilson and Srixon blades seem to be longer than some other options.”

Blades are blades. True blades are 1-piece. Shaft, grooves, ball are what matter.
