Cleveland CBX 2 wedges: High-lofters for the common golfer

Published

on

In an update to its popular cavity back CBX wedge of 2017, Cleveland Golf today announced the launch of the Cleveland CBX 2 wedge. The wedge will be available for retail August 30.

Targeting cavity back iron players, Cleveland sought to produce a forgiving, cavity back wedge that still features expected forged wedge technology.

“The short game is critical to playing your best golf, and playing wedges designed for your game – and the shots you like to hit – is key,” said Brian Schielke, Marketing Director at Cleveland Golf. “That’s why Cleveland CBX 2 wedges were created. They make the short game easier and more forgiving for the majority of golfers out there playing game-improvement equipment.”

Key technology: Cleveland CBX 2 wedges

Hollow-Cavity Design: With a hollow chamber near the heel and a heavy weight placed in the toe, the hollow-cavity design maximizes MOI and perimeter weighting for maximum forgiveness

Feel Balancing and Gelback Technologies: Enhanced Feel Balancing Technology along with a Gelback TPU Insert reduces vibration for a pure feel at impact.

Rotex Face Technology: Fourth generation Rotex Face Technology delivers the company’s sharpest Tour Zip Grooves and most aggressive face milling.

Dynamic Sole: Three specialized sole grinds options.

Ping Eye2 wedges were enormously popular, yet so few companies have followed making more forgiving wedges. The idea that a high handicapper will want a fancy-grind MB wedge makes little sense. These look really good and should help make the short game a little easier for the average golfer.

I love Cleveland Wedges. My all time favorites are the 588 and in fact I still have the BeCu 60.
