Forum Thread of the Day: “Patrick Reed testing a new TaylorMade driver”

Published

on

Today’s Forum Thread of the Day showcases a TaylorMade Tour M5 which Patrick Reed has been seen testing at this week’s WGC-FedEx St. Jude. Our members have been quick to notice that the driver contains the same Rogue shaft which the 28-year-old typically uses, and have been discussing the thinking behind Reed’s experimenting in our forums.

It’s worth noting that the Texan’s G400 LST driver remains in his bag.

For more photos, check out the full forum thread.

Here are a few posts from the thread, but make sure to check out the entire discussion and have your say at the link below.

  • PowderedToastMan: “I love my G400 LST but that M5 Tour does look fantastic.”
  • MattyO1984: “Love that the Rogue shaft is still in there.”
  • pga43: “It’s (G400 LST) still in the bag but Patrick is always checking to see what might work better.”

Three Swing Challenge: Testing the Titleist Vokey WedgeWorks A+ grind

Published

on

The first wedge has made its way to the Three Swing Challenge! This week we have the WedgeWorks A+ grind that was recently released by Vokey. BK is looking for a new 60-degree wedge, and this could be a contender.

Why three swings?

Many years ago, the legendary Barney Adams, founder of Adams Golf told us this:

“My formula as a fitter was three shots only. I discounted No. 1 just because it was the first one, counted 100 percent of No. 2 and discounted No. 3 because the player was starting to adjust.”
