Titleist releases Vokey 64T Slate Blue Limited Edition with Masters in mind

Published

on

With the year’s first major championship just around the corner, Vokey has released the 64T Slate Blue Limited Edition, which has the Masters Championship very much in mind.

The creation of the 64T Slate Blue Limited Edition is inspired by the test which the players will face next week at Augusta National, in particular, the elevated greens and tight fairways. The wedge comes in 64 degrees of loft and six degrees of bounce, for the necessary loft and trajectory while also keeping in mind the required bounce to play out of bunkers effectively.

As a recap, the T-Grind provides heel, toe and trailing edge relief for added versatility around the greens, while the wedge features Progressive Center of Gravity technology and 100%-inspected Spin Milled grooves designed for maximum greenside spin.

Another feature of the 64T Slate Blue Limited Edition is the customization options, which includes personalized stamping in up to 10 characters and one of 12 paintfill colors. Customers can also choose from a range of shafts, grips, shaft bands and ferrules.

The Vokey 64T Slate Blue Limited Edition wedges are available from April 4 through WedgeWorks on Vokey.com or by custom order, with prices beginning at $250.

Love the blue slate look & limited edition Masters idea and miss my old 64 that I nearly hit over my head and stopped before the pin wedged up against a front bunker. That was fun. This is a fun idea and I will play it, just for the fun of it, if need be, and I’ll like owning it and it sitting in my golf bag.

What can a 64-6 wedge do that a 60-4 cannot? Nobody needs a 64* wedge, except as a paperweight.

Rickie Fowler’s new putter: Standard-length Odyssey Jailbird 380 in custom orange

Editor’s note: This is an excerpt from a piece our Andrew Tursky originally wrote for PGATour.com’s Equipment Report. Head over there for the full article.

…The Jailbird craze hasn’t really slowed down in 2024, either. According to Odyssey rep Joe Toulon, there are about 18-20 Jailbird putter users on the PGA TOUR.

Most recently, Akshay Bhatia won the 2024 Valero Texas Open using a broomstick-style Odyssey Jailbird 380 putter and Webb Simpson is switching into a replica of that putter at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship.

Now, Fowler, who essentially started the whole Jailbird craze, is making a significant change to his putter setup.

Fowler, who has had a couple weeks off since the 2024 RBC Heritage, started experimenting with a new, custom-orange Jailbird 380 head that’s equipped with a standard 35-inch putter build, rather than his previous 38-inch counter-balanced setup.

According to Fowler, while he still likes the look and forgiveness of his Jailbird putter head, he’s looking to re-incorporate more feel into his hands during the putting stroke.

He told GolfWRX.com on Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Championship that the 38-inch counterbalanced setup “served its purpose” by helping him to neutralize his hands during the stroke, but now it’s time to try the standard-length putter with a standard-size SuperStroke Pistol Tour grip to help with his feel and speed control.

Although Fowler was also spotted testing standard-length mallets from L.A.B. Golf and Axis1 on Tuesday, he confirmed that the custom Odyssey Jailbird 380 is the putter he’ll use this week at the 2024 Wells Fargo Championship.
