Odyssey launches O-Works putters in inverse colorways

Published

on

Odyssey’s new line of O-Works putters are likely going in golfers’ bags because of their microhinge faces that add topspin to reduce skidding, their visual aids for improved alignment and classic, tour-proven head shapes.

Now, in addition to being offered in black-white-black color schemes, Odyssey’s O-Works putters will now be available in the inverse colorway, white-black-white, in three of the most popular head models (#1 Wide, #7 and #9).

“As a line extension, these white/black/white models incorporate three of our most popular head shapes for both retail and on Tour,” Odyssey said in a press release. “And as part of our O-Works lineup, they all feature our new innovative microhinge face insert technology that has been extremely popular on Tour for players like Phil Mickelson.”

After starting as merely a prototype face insert, the company’s microhinge technology — which initially caught the eye of Phil Mickelson — is heating up in the equipment world. Even Rory McIlroy is using an Odyssey prototype with the microhinge face insert (you can read more about microhinge technology here).

The new color options will be available for golfers to purchase in stores on April 28 for $229.99 each.

Just a TaylorMade Pure Roll knockoff, and we all know the Spider Tour has racked up more wins.

They had this option from the start on those three models – I have seen a poster a month ago in my golf store.
The Tank models are still only available in BWB which I prefer.

I’ve never been a fan of the versa color scheme but the #7 looks really good.

Spotted: Titleist GTS USWO headcovers

Published

on

GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore was at Riviera Country Club this last week in Los Angeles for the U.S. Women’s Open. While browsing the photos, I spotted a recent major trend in headcovers. That is, the Titleist GTS headcover line expands the majors theme.

Seen on the bag of Natalia Guseva were the red, white, and blue Titleist GTS covers. This is the third time we have seen limited-edition Titleist major covers, the others being at the Masters and the PGA Championship. But with the launch of the GTS line back at the Texas Children’s Houston Open in March, this is the first time we have seen Titleist come out with major themed head covers for the season (driver headcovers through hybrids).

Check out some photos below.

At the Masters, we saw the familiar Masters green, white, and yellow. While the PGA Championship design was colors synonymous with the Philadelphia Eagles NFL team. This shows the season major drops continue full steam ahead for major OEMs. New opportunities for each major for designs and themes, and who knows, maybe a lucky spark for a player and a major championship for their resume. It gets the wheels turning for what major theme headcover you would keep on your bag for the whole season!
