Rickie Fowler’s awesome Arnold Palmer tribute shoes will be auctioned for charity

Published

on

Perhaps you saw Rickie Fowler’s awesome pair of Pauma Ignite hi-tops making the rounds on social media yesterday. The shoes feature images of the late, great Arnold Palmer and plenty of other cool touches.

Fowler, who will wear the Palmer umbrella on his hat and shirt all week, will sport the white hi-tops during his Wednesday practice round.

Puma commissioned “The Shoe Surgeon,” Dominic Chambrone, to design the shoes. And they only made two pairs. One, Fowler will wear, and the other will be auctioned off for charity. All proceeds will go to Arnie’s Army Charitable Foundation.

“I feel privileged to have known Arnie and be able to call him a friend,” Fowler said. “I wanted to do something to celebrate what he did on the course and more importantly how he used his platform to benefit others through his foundation.”

According to Puma, Chambrone “utilized a high-grade infused graphic printed directly into the leather, resulting in a vibrant, high-quality finish. He then hand-cut each piece to fit the exact specs of the PUMA Golf Hi-Top.”

Other features:

  • The Velcro strap is laser engraved with Palmer’s signature.
  • Behind the tongue of the left shoe is the iconic umbrella logo that has become synonymous with Arnold’s brands.
  • Behind the tongue of the right shoe includes a quote from Fowler in remembrance of The King. It reads: “Legends never die. You will live on forever Arnie. I will never forget the bear hug in front of the clubhouse at Augusta, watching you hit your final tee shot there, and to spending time with you in the locker room at Bay Hill. Thank you for being you and giving me the opportunity to do what I get to do everyday! I love you as did everyone! RIP The King.”

We snapped exclusive photos of the one (or two)-of-a-kind shoes at Bay Hill, which you can check out below. And more importantly, see how you can bid on the shoes by clicking here.

At least the buyer gets a new pair and not the walked out pair from Ricky.

Wow! That young man’s respect for the game and the King is quite awesome to see! Well done Rickie, well done! I’m certain Mr. Palmer will be smiling down on you this week.

Some of the biggest names in golf have taken home the title here, including Arnold Palmer, Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino, and Ben Crenshaw.
