Spotted: New Scotty Cameron Putters at the Sony Open

Published

on

We spotted three new Scotty Cameron putters at the Sony Open in Hawaii this week, where they’re being testing by PGA Tour players. Titleist is yet to announce any new Scotty Cameron models, however, so we can’t confirm if or when these putters are coming to retail.

Each of the mallets (T5MB, T5S and T6M) has a multi-material design and color scheme similar to Scotty Cameron’s current line Futura of putters, which includes the X5, X5R, X7 and X7M models.

I think these are great. Cameron has come out with decades and decades of classic designs. As a designer, how do you develop your craft (and the game of golf) if you’re releasing the same model of putter over and over and over again? If you want a classic Cameron, jump on eBay and grab one of Cameron’s many classic models. Otherwise, I think it’s great to see technology improving the game of putting. Stoked for these to hit the market.

don’t know what happened to the classic cameron designs. these are awful, I’m ok with a few high MOI designs, but what happened to the California models? those were awesome, seems all the better looking putters are saved for the gallery designs which are 2k plus. if I’m spending that on a putter it better putt itself and avg 18 putts a round

not sure what happened to the classic designs he used to make. seems today he saves all the classic designs for the gallery putters which are all 2k plus. wish he would come out with some more affordable options with classic designs

Well I finally got to play my first round with a Scotty Newport 2 on holiday…. Love the look of those red glass dot things on the back.
Hahahahaha what a piece of tinny sounding junk. Identical feel to my wife’s $12 Dunlop Anser special. Marketing genius, zero substance.

BRB I’m going to stick a ‘tour use only’ label on all my clubs just to wind my club mates up.

Same old tired looking designs but you have to hand it to Scotty for his marketing genius.

If they still feel as hollow and tingy as the x5, then they’re the most overpriced putters in history

The T6M is hideous. I get it, I understand the concept, but I don’t want to putt with an alien probe.

Coolest thing for sale in the GolfWRX Classifieds (5/13/24): Full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs

Published

on

At GolfWRX, we are a community of like-minded individuals that all experience and express our enjoyment of the game in many ways.

It’s that sense of community that drives day-to-day interactions in the forums on topics that range from best driver to what marker you use to mark your ball. It even allows us to share another thing we all love – buying and selling equipment.

Currently, in our GolfWRX buy/sell/trade (BST) forum, there is a listing for a full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs.

From the seller: (@CaymanS): “During the year of recovery from leg surgery that never quite healed, I was bored.  One thing led to another, and I ended up gradually building/acquiring the individual pieces to complete a set of “Tiger Slam” clubs.  They are what Tiger played to win 4 consecutive majors, which nobody has ever done.  This is not an exact replica of course, but something close that fit me to play a few times per year and experience what Tiger did.  But my bad leg, 4 shoulder tears, and age prevents me from the ball-striking needed to enjoy these to their fullest.  They may not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially since the driver and fairway shafts are regular flex and most players good enough to play these will need to change them, but it’s not a perfect world.  I am not a historian on this stuff, but my research indicates these are the same models Tiger used, with slightly different specs to fit me.

Full set $1,600, or…

…a donation for a Pro Kids fundraiser, or…

Driver: $70

Fairway: $250

Irons: $1,100

Wedges: $100

Putter: $350″

To check out the full listing in our BST forum, head through the link: Full set of ‘Tiger Slam’ clubs

This is the most impressive current listing from the GolfWRX BST, and if you are curious about the rules to participate in the BST Forum you can check them out here: GolfWRX BST Rules
